A/N: sorry for a short chapter! Not even 500 words this time but tbh it's a miracle (hehe miracle. Miraculous. Yeah... I'm too tired to make good puns) that I even got this done... finals are a struggle. Ugh! And wow! 150 reads! I know it's not a ton but it means a lot to me so thank you to everyone who is reading this!

Anyways.... on with the book!

"Chat Noir. To what do I owe this pleasure?"
Gabriel knew this couldn't be his son. It must be the new Chat Noir, the one that replaced Adrien after he died. He told himself he was just hearing things and that Chat had never called him his father.

Suddenly, Chat Noir lunged forward with an outstretched arm. "Cataclysm!" He yelled at the top of his lungs and thrust his hand towards Gabriel.

Gabriel had more agility than Chat had accounted for and he easily stepped out of the way to avoid Chat's attack.

Gabriel held out a book he grabbed from a nearby table. "Why don't you Cataclysm this and then we can talk for a few minutes?" Chat grunted, but obliged and touched the book, obliterating it into dust.

"Come." Gabriel ushered Chat into his office where they both sat down.

Chat kept up his typical nonchalant demeanor, but his heart was pounding inside his chest. He wasn't ready to face his father again.

But he was here no and there was no going back. "So, what did you want to talk about Mr. Agreste?"

Gabriel looked at the cat. "I believe you tried to kill me and I would like to know why."
"Oh. That. Yeah.. you see..." Chat didn't really have a good explanation for his actions and he couldn't just tell him, Hey, I'm your son! Not dead. Surprise! And oh yeah... double surprise! I want you dead! So what's up with you Dad?

Chat decided not to say that. "I know who you are, Hawkmoth."

"Hmm." Gabriel thought about this for a second. Possibly, just possibly, Chat Noir could be his son, Adrien, still alive. How else would he know his true identity? "How did you find out?"

Chat Noir thought up a quick fib. "My kwami told me. Just because the old Chat died doesn't mean the kwami forgot everything that happened."

Gabriel frowned. Unfortunately, that made sense. It was irrational for him to get his hopes up. Of course his son wasn't alive. Hundreds of witnesses and seen him fall and seen the body before it got taken away. A beeping noise emanated from Chat's ring.

"That's my cue to go. I'll deal with you later Hawkmoth. Now, I know where you live." Chat Noir grinned as he saw a trace of fear flash across his father's eyes. He walked away feeling very satisfied with how his encounter with his father had gone. The night was going pretty well.

Gabriel was left alone and uneasy. Chat Noir had almost killed him. If he had been distracted, he could have gotten seriously injured... or worse. Gabriel decided that he needed to fast track his plans to take down Ladybug.

"Natalie, come here." He called for his assistant.

Natalie came into the room with her tablet. "Yes sir. What do you need?"

"Clear my schedule for tomorrow. I have some... business to take care of."
