Dedicated to choco_love26 ! Thanks Ella you're amazing!
The next day when I got to school I rushed over to tell Mel what had happened the night before. She is the kind of friend that seems to understand everything. I guess that's what made me become friends with her. When I was new at the school, I had a lot of problems and Mel was just the kind of girl who I could tell everything and not leave everything bottled up. "Cecille, wow that is just Kay-ra-zee!" she excitedly said to me after a long explanation.
As we were walking to class, I saw Matt. "Hey, I wanted to give you these as saying thanks for driving and cooking for me" I said handing a small box of muffins to him. "Cecille, I'm just gonna go to the loo real quick,OK?" Mel nudged me and whispered. "OK" I replied. I turned back to face Matt. "Aw thank you, I'm sure they'll be delicious" Matt agreed. Then suddenly he hugged me! Yeah, HUGGED! I felt so tired in the early hours of the morning and his hug was so comforting I just had to hug him back. Plus, there was no one else around.
"I like your perfume" Matt told me.
"Thanks, anyway we better get to class or I'll probably get detention!" I joked. Matt laughed. We were both in the same class for English so we walked together. Literacy isn't my best subject, I mean I am so used to texting all the time that I forget how to spell a couple of words! Half an hour later, our teacher Ms Edwards clapped her hands and announced, "Class, we will doing a project this term in pairs so sit quietly while I assign you your partners." When I found out my partner was Matt, I was relieved because he was basically the only boy I knew and everyone's partner was the opposite gender. Ms Edwards explained the project and as soon as she finished the bell rang. Mel yanked my hand and pulled me out the door. "I think Matt has a crush on you!" she whisper-shouted and put her hands on my shoulders and pushed me back and forth. "Oh shut up don't say stuff that's unrealistic!" I replied turning to open my locker. "Yeah, but look, he talks to you, compliments you and he's your partner in English" she said. She had a point. "Well I don't have feelings for him right now" I snapped. Mel hugged me and said goodbye then left.
"Hey Cecille wanna go grab a bite at the coffee shop?" Matt shouted and ushered me over to him. The coffee shop was just a few blocks away from school. "Uh sure but I don't any money on me" I told him. "Don't worry, I'll pay" Matt promised. We grabbed our bags and walked down to the shop.
"Let's sit here" Matt gestured me to an oval table with 2 chairs overlooking the view of the canals. I couldn't resist all the wonderful options on the menu so in the end I ordered a huge chocolate cupcake with edible glitter, mocha and a chicken sandwich. Matt ordered a muffin and coffee. "Cecille are you sure you can eat all that?" Matt asked nervously. "You betcha" I replied. The whole shop smelled of fresh coffee beans.
Matt was right. I couldn't eat all that. I finished my cupcake and mocha, but when I cast my eye on the sandwich my stomach started doing backflips and I groaned. I pushed my plate away and sat back. Matt just laughed at me. I glared at him, not in a mean way though. Suddenly this really tired, unhygienic family came over with 5 kids and sat at the table behind Matt. That left him with no choice other than to move next to me. He shuffled his chair to me. Matt wrapped his hand around my shoulder and whispered "See, I told you not to eat so much, you beautiful idiot."
Then he smiled at me. Oh my gosh! Had I seriously never seen those killer dimples on him? Also his eyes glistened and he looked so amazing! Oh crap! Did I have a crush on him after what Mel said? I wondered. I pushed the thought aside. "Do you believe in fate?" Matt questioned me. "I don't know, I guess so. Why?" I replied. "Nothing just, it's kinda private" he said. I shrugged. After a few minutes we got up. I was so distracted that I forgot to look at the road (again) and Matt grabbed my hand and yanked me back. "You silly bitch!"he joked. He twined my hand into his and as we walked on the footpath I wondered, Did I have a crush on Matt?
