Chapter 13- JUMP!!!

"What do you mean?" I said confused.

"Okay, there’s no way to say this without sounding like I’m crazy. Just don’t say anything until I’m finished," she said seriously, "Before any of this happened, a video leaked on YouTube, it was quickly taken down but not quickly enough. It was telling people what was going to happen, I haven’t seen it myself but that guy back there, the only guy older than 15, his name is mark, he saw it and somewhere in it said that only kids can save humanity because they have powers."

"Wha-" Niki tried to say but was cut off by laurel.

"SHHHHH, what did I tell you? Anyway, he found some willing to be trained. They are the leaders, they make sure we are training hard enough. They are all 14 or 15, he hasn't found anyone older than that, or younger than 4. That’s why there's no adults here except Mark, Claire, who is Mark’s wife, the guards and the doctors. The leaders train us, there are two groups, Anima's can morph into a certain animal and the Random’s they are powers that don’t involve animals, Mark thinks that the animal powers are the most common because there are a lot of animals but he also thinks that all the groups will split up into smaller groups when we get more people in. All the powers that we have found involve either energy or time or both. Energy powers use that persons energy and when all their energy is used they pass out, they have to practice to increase how much energy they can use. People with time powers have to practice to increase the time they can use their power, all the Anima’s are time powers and some of the Random’s are time.”

“So how do you know what power you have?” I asked as soon as she stopped speaking for half a second.

“Well I’m not saying that I agree with this, it totally barbaric but it’s the only way we can find out,” she started, “I can’t really tell you. I have to show you, but were not allowed outside our rooms after dark let alone near The Cage.”

Zoe, Niki, Laurel and I, stayed up until 3 am, while Willow, Brooke and Jade slept. Niki and I learnt that Zoe was a year younger than us, 10, Brooke and Jade are both 6 and were friends before any of this happened, they reminded me of a younger version of Niki and I, Brooke had a similar hair colour to Niki and Jade and I had a similar hair colour. As soon as Laurels watch read 3:00 we decided it was time to sneak out. They watch the corridors outside the rooms so we couldn’t go out the doors, we had to climb out the window of a two storey building without attracting any attention. We threw laurel’s thin mattress out the window, onto the concrete below.

“Who is going first,” Zoe said in a nervous voice.

“I will,” Laurel said bravely, “if I make a noise I know how to handle it,”

She crawled out the small window, using a small table to get to the windows level then climbing/sliding out the small gap feet first. She stood up on a small ledge that separated the first and second storeys, took a big breath and jumped.

I'm sorry that this chapter was out a bit later than others, this week is that terrible week at the end of term when everything is due and I ALWAYS leave everything until this week.

I've decided to put story recommendations in the chapters, someone has probably done this already but anyway.

Pure is one of the first, if not first, stories I started reading on Wattpad, IT. IS. AMAZING. Ever since i started reading it I was hooked, its about vampires so if you like stories about vampires (and even if you don't) definitely read it.
