Reed pinned his brother to the ground, with a loud yelp.

"Quit it!"
"Never!" Reed laughed as she dug her claws in the damp mud. Her nose twitched. "Hmm?" Reed noticed the smell of the dusty gunpowder nearby.

"Reed, Blue, run!" The kits ran while they saw their mother getting shot by a by a big man, the ringing stuck in their ears. They hid behind a tree watching their mom getting skinned, crying. How would the packs work? Only Yukaa knows.

Chapter 1
Yukka, the godlike fox, created the packs. He was your average fox. With purple blood in his veins, he was the god of the underworld. He states, "Every fox blood with a big heart will go deep in the depths of hell and will suffer the worst pain a fox can ever imagine." It was hard for Reed and her family to follow this rule, thankfully they are not in Kings Pack. Being kind is good, right?

Reed and blue ran to the pack in fear tears rushing with them, running to Aeolus. The mighty red fox looked toward the small kits in confusion, while lying on the damp Creek Stone.

"Hello small ones, what's going on?"
Reed stuttered, "S-swift, my mother, was shot by a hunter! She is furless, and in a pool of r-red.." Aeolus comforted the kits, his thick fur covering the mourning kits. Blue howled in sadness. "It's alright little ones, isn't Toad your father?"

"He is on the hunt, he won't be back for long I believe."

"Oh, so you're alone. You should stay in the dens until your father comes back. The moms currently nursing can watch you." Aeolus suggested.
"We aren't newfox kits! We can be in our den!" Reed yipped, acting like a big kit. "Whatever you suggest Reed." Aeolus chuckled. Reed and Blue trotted to the den, Reed stomping on the soft Earth under her paws. When they arrived at the nursery, Reed crunched a stick in her teeth in anger, waking a sick kit. She groaned,

"Why is our life so terrible?" Blue stuttered,

"I-I wish dad actually l-liked us.." The kit kept crying, and was coughing in pain. They wouldn't last another night. "ARGHH!" Reed cried in annoyance, as she gripped the kit in her mouth and squeezed the life out of it. Blood dripped from the soulless kit. Blue stared, and started to cry. "R-Reed... Why did y-you do that? Don't take anger out on a kit!" Reed dropped the kit on the leafy ground, in shock.
"Don't be shocked! You did this!"
"I didn't mean it..."
"Yes you did! W-why?! We have to get out of here quick!"

They left the dead kit in a puddle of blood and padded out of the den. One of the mothers saw them run out, and stopped them. "Are one of the kits hurt?!" She ran in before anyone can answer, and the duo ran out of camp. "Reed are you ok?"
"Yes, thank you for asking Blue."
"I miss mother..."

"Of course you do. And I do also, but we have to move on. We need to hunt anyways." Blue was never good at hunting.

Chapter 2

"I heard that rabbits are coming to camp, maybe we can catch one?"
"Possibly..." Reed's ears perked when she noticed a fat, fuzzy cottontail, slowly approaching some herbs. Reed crouched down in the tall grass, her claws digging in the rocky Earth underneath her, and leaped at the rabbit tearing open his flesh. Reed mumbled,
"Follow me." The two walked to an abandoned den near King's Pack. They both ate the large rabbit, filling their tight stomachs. A small marble fox trotted out of King's Pack, quaking in fear. Blue ran to the kit, and asked,
"What's the matter?"
"W-what's the matter with you?" He said, obviously not fine. Reed trotted up to the two, and asked,
"Speak up now!" she snarled, the blood of the sick kit was stained on her muzzle, and flesh sticking to her teeth like taffy.

"Ok ok! My mother attacked me... I didn't follow the rules like I was supposed to.."
"Ouch..."

"Our mother died today, so we feel your pain."

"Thankfully someone is here for me!" The marble fox's tail brushed against Reed's chest, she felt a sensation she had never felt before. Passion, appreciation, and love? Yet at the same time, she felt nothing.

"Uhm.."
"Hehe." Blue laughed

"May I join you on your journey?" Reed and Blue glanced at each other.

"I guess. What's your name though little one?"

"Juno." Reed smiled, it was such a cute name! Juno trotted with them back into the dark forest...
