The dragon roared angrily. It chased after its prey, a trio of humans. One of them carried another and the thirds held a small wrapped cloth. The dragon roared again and a stream of fire erupted from its mouth. The fire had just singed them before they ducked behind a rock.
"How much farther?" whispered the boy to the girl with the cloth.
"I think I see it up ahead. Do you think Marcie can make it?" replied the girl. They both looked at the unconscious girl and the boy shrugged.
They made a mad dash to the cave exit. The girl with the cloth turned around and pulled out a small knife. "Drac, get Marcie out of here. I'll be right behind you!" she said facing the dragon.
Drac picked Marcie up and carried her out. The scenery wasn't much better. He paused and looked around. Burning ash rained down on the two as Drac surveyed the area around them. They were in a field of dead grass and ash. The stench of sulfur intoxicated them. He saw what he was looking for. The gateway out. The other girl ran out of the cave, still holding the cloth.
"Is the still in tact?" Drac asked, starting to run.
"The book is still in one piece." Said the other girl.
"I knew you could do it, Kassi. " Drac said sarcastically.
They made it out of the gate with no trouble, though they knew someone would notice soon. Drac stopped for second an looked around. His started to glow an acid green and he looked around again. He saw through the trees and spotted a tower. "There!" he said pointing in its general direction.
"I hate it when you do that" said Kassi. Marcie twisted around and winced. He hand covered her belly, which red had stained. The trio ran to the tower.
The closer they got to the tower, the stronger the smell of incense became. The tower had candles in each of the windows and vines of ivy clung to the stone. They approached the wooden door and knocked. A women opened the door. She had short platinum hair and bright blue eyes. She stepped aside without a word and let us in.
"You may want to get her in a bed." She said leading us down a a small hall. She opened a door to a room with lots of beds, all made with bedstands beside them. Drac laid Marcie down on one of the beds. The lady came back with a small bag and bowls of soup. "May I ask your names?" She said opening her bag.
Without looking away I said "My name is Drac this is Kassi and on the bed is Marcie." A blue mist flowed from her bag and around Marcie.
"I am Earth." She said without turning around. The mist vanished and Earth started to wrap a bandage her Marcie's stomach. "You two seem pretty banged up." she said smiling.
She had us sit down on one of the beds and started to clean and bandage our cuts and scrapes. "What was that mist? It's not like any kind of magic I've seen." Kassi asked Earth.
Her eyes flashed a fluorescent blue and back to the normal bright blue. "They are dreams" she said cooly.
