"Aironna! Get up you gonna be late for your Job Interview at the strip club!"
" Mama it's not a strip club." Aironna groaned as she risen from her deep sleep in her past down wooden full size bed.
" Well Lippy you better check the time 'cuz it looks like you gone be late ," her mother said as she bust open the door with a spatula in her hand an apron around her wide hips",I mean unless you gone go to da strip club looking like that."
The girl rolled her eyes as the woman in her doorway kept calling the restaurant with the 'skimpy clothes' strip club when in actuality it was just because the shorts and crop top was to much for her .
" Mommy stop calling it strip club before you get daddy up and causing a ruckus."
"Don't worry about that your fada is a work right now while you sitting on you butt with that bonnet on your head looking a damn mess ."the loving woman said while walking around the room picking up the girls clothes off of the brown shag carpet.
Soon a little girl came in with two big puffs on her head skipped in helping the mother . She was her little sister. She had two sibling her and her older brother Terrance .
" Lani get out " Arionna said as she quickly picked up some lace bra and underwear set that her mother would deem as too promiscuous for the eighteen year old girl .
" Oooou I saw that and I'm telling mama." said the chocolate girl sitting on the bed .
" Tell me about what , go on ." mama said with her hand on her hip and laundry basket on the other hip.
" Don't know what this milk dud is talking about , however I need to get dressed before I'm late she said as she shoo'd her mother and sister out the room .
When she finally had some peace she went to sit at the old vanity her grandmother had left her when she died she took of her cheap bonnet ad started taking out her cornrows and deeply moisturizing each section. She then went onto stuffing her hair into a silk scarf that she got from the hair store and put on her favorite hoop earrings. She put on some makeup through on her off the shoulder shirt and maxi skirt and rushed out the room.
" Ok mama about to leave ."
" You gone leave without brushing yo teeth nasty girl."
" Nothing a mint piece of gum can't do mama." she said in her thick haitian accent while putting on her worn out sandals and grabbing her keys to her old ass honda.
" LIPP-" 'Rionna cut her off with the door she knew she would pay for that when she got back .
Walking out in the hot california heat and she ran to the tan honda in the distance. She got into the scolding car and turned the key a few times since it was old as shit but she loved it because it was hers... her only baby.
When the car finally started up after the tenth time of course the damn thing needed gas.
" Is mama's baby hungry? You know that mommy has no money baby but I see that you are almost empty I guess I'll use my last ten dollars on you ." she sighed as she patted the headboard.
The 'baby' had no air conditioning so she was drove with the windows down which was the main reason she wore the scarf today . She drove through the urban area of california were she lived and listened to SZA "Anything" play through the car .
She pulled into the local rundown gas station .
The doorbell rang as she walked into the conditioned store . There was the friendly usual woman in the front behind the counter and two guys over by the chip section . One guy was yelling into his phone while the other one was cracking up . The one who was laughing looked familiar but she decided to look to avoid a conservation.
