"You didn't think that you were going to get away from us so quickly, did you, Rose?" Dr. Cooper asks her in a sickly-sweet voice. "We still have many tests to perform."
"Hold up," Blake says, taking his gun out of its holster. "Who is this guy?"
"Dr. Cooper," Rose says, her voice becoming menacing as she reaches for the gun that was on the inside pocket of her jacket. "He's the head of the PL Institute; the one that took me."
All at once, Anderson, Blake, Rose, and Logan held up their guns, pointing them at Dr. Cooper. "I wouldn't do that if I were you," Dr. Cooper says in a sing-song voice. At their confused expressions, he points towards the roof of a building. Blake and Anderson look up, but were already too late; they were shot.
"Now Rose," Dr. Cooper continues, taking a step towards her. "Do you want to do this the easy way or the hard way?"
"Rose, don't do it," Logan whispers, taking her wrist in his hand. "We can find a way out; together. Please, Rose."
"Logan, don't make this any harder than it has to be," she whispers, stepping towards Dr. Cooper.
"That's it, Rose," Dr. Cooper purrs, a triumphant smile clearly evident on his face.
"Rose, please," he cries out, pain in his voice as he grips her wrist even tighter.
"Logan," Rose says, turning back to look at him. It hurt her to see him in so much pain; but she had to do it. For everyone's sake, she just had to. "I'm sorry."
She jerks her arm out of Logan's grip and runs towards the doctor, stepping over the dead bodies of Blake and Anderson. He holds out his arms and engulfs her in a stiff embrace. "Good job, Rosie," he says to her as she stands by his side. Up above them, the whirring of helicopter blades could be heard as a ladder descended from it. She grabbed on and her hair whooshed around her face, her eyes never leaving Logan's figure as she rode off to her doom.

"Come along, Elton," a guard says with a gruff voice as he leads her down to the prison cells.
Rose never knew they had prison cells in the basement of the PL Institute; then again, she never knew that her whole life was a lie until a couple of days ago. With the guard's hand on her upper arm, she stomped down the stairs, hoping to at least find her aunt in here.
"Get in," he says, shoving her into a cell and locking it behind her.
She runs up and grips the bars, looking around the basement. And there, right in front of her, was the most horrible scene that she had ever laid eyes upon; her aunt pale and lifeless, lying on the cold, stone prison floor in her own pool of blood.
"No," Rose whispers. "NO!" She throws herself against the cell bars, desperately trying to break out and run to her aunt, but to no avail. "Elizabeth!" she wails, rattling the bars to try and wake her up somehow. "Please! This can't be happening!"
She puts her head in her hands and starts sobbing, backing up against the wall and sliding down to the floor as she brings her knees up to her chest. "Help!" she yells out, her voice echoing out into the darkness. Rose didn't know what to do; after seeing her aunt dead, her mind just blanked out. "Please! Anyone! Please help!"
Rose sat there for what felt like hours, disappointed in herself for falling for the bait; it was obvious that Elizabeth was dead. It makes sense. It would also make sense for them to hunt down Logan and kill him. At that thought, she start sobbing again; she had come to like the boy and enjoy his company. She couldn't bear the thought of him being gone too. He was the first person she could trust since she woke up.
Up above the prison, not heard by Rose, was Logan, struggling in the hands of two guards. "Let go of me!" he exclaims, squirm. "Rose! Rose, where are you?!"
"Do not fret, Logan," Dr. Cooper says to him calmly, giving him a cruel smile. "Rose is being taken care of. Now, we're going to take care of you." He turns to look at the two guards, his smile immediately turning into a frown. "Bring him to the torture room."
"You guys have a torture room?!" Logan shouts in disbelief. "What kind of place is this?!"
They start to pull him forward, but have trouble due to Logan trying to pull them back. "Stop! Rose! Where's Rose?" He finally manages to get one of them to let go and he punches the other in the face, doing the same to the other once his partner was down. He runs to the main entrance, taking the stairs down to the prison. "Just as planned..." he mutters to himself, almost tripping over his two feet as the guards chase after him. They grab his arms and drag him back upstairs as he calls out Rose's name.
"Logan?" she wonders when she hears him call her name. "It can't be..." She gets up from her spot on the floor and runs up to the cell door, gripping the bars. And there, at the entrance to the stairs, she sees two guard taking Logan up as he struggles to get out. "Logan!" she exclaims, thanking God that nothing bad had happened to him.
She becomes silent, waiting to see if he would come down and help her; or he would at least say something.
But what she heard was way worse.
Rose heard struggling and the scuffling of feet, along with gasps and muffled thuds.
And then, she hears Logan cry out in pain, and a thud.
And finally: silence.
