It had been an hour since Mia left for the woods yet no-one was home. As Mia and Drako entered the house they both spotted a note on the table. Mia inspected it first. The letter read.

When you're are reading this me and your father will be out and it shall stay like this till first light of the morrow. Whe have left some things for you in your room as an early birthday present. You may be confused when you first come across them but we asure you they will be of great use to you in whatever you endevour to do.

Mia placed the letter back ont the table giving it a look of aproval as she did so.

"What did it read?" Drako asked.

"Come with me and find out." Mia said as she took him by the hand and lead him up the stairs.

As they entered the room they both came across a neatly made bed, which certainly suprised them the most, and laid across the bed were a set of tools wrapped in linen, the contents of the cloth were certainly eye catching. Underneath it lay a short sword in the shape of a machetti but with more curves and definately more taste, the blade was thin and broad; it looked as though it could slice through anything with the gentlest touch. The handle was crafted with ivory depicting wonderful tales of dragon slayers and monster hunters. Next there was a dagger, a very intiresting dagger indeed, the blade was once again crafted from fine steel but this time thicker, the thickness of it was rather intimidating, it looked like it could be used by a hunter or an extremely talented mercinary. The handle was also intiresting; it was crafted from glass, a dark mysterious glass, it was so beautiful Mia forgot she was even holding a weapon. The hilt was smooth and shone elegantly in the sun. She slid it into her leather holster with the sword aswell

"Incredible." Drako murmured catching Mia by suprise. She spun back into the direction of the linen and saw a bow. The handle was made from bone that had been stained green, it had been carved into with an incredible amount of precision. Mia lifted it to her face so she could examine it more closely. The pictures showed battles of elves and creatures, good vs evil, heaven vs hell. She could of sworn she saw something flow through it... an energy. She peered to the side of her to find another note. She opened it up.

Some use it as a weapon, others as a shield. Without it,you would most likely die. It will make you stronger where it matters, and with that you can achieve anything.

"I don't understand where this has all come from; I knew my parents were adventures but I hadn't a clue they were this serious about it."

"Yes, very much so it seems and the good knews is that there is more." Drako said while pointing to her wardrobe.

Shocked, Mia dropped the letter and strode towards her wardrobe. Hanging in the middle of it was a costume, yes a costume since that's the only way to put it really. But just because it's a costume that doesn't mean it's silly, infact far from it.

The outside was made from silk and hung like a cloak only the hood was completely atached. The hood was the thing that caught Mia's attention. It was green along with the rest of the cape but had silver embroidery on the top depicting an archer slaying the mighty demon Dreneth.

Mia, being young and naive thought his existance to be legend and that it should be nothing to worry about. When in actual fact she'd be less wrong to say that her brother was twenty years older than her.

When it came to reading Mia wasn't the best at it, that was her brother. But when it came down to finding the truth then Mia was the only person for the job and thats why she has now been given the hood. The hood in actual fact had nothing to do with her parents. Eventually Mia will find out but her parents never will unless Mia does something about the hood because the hood is not what it seems, not a cloak or a cape but a prophecy.

"I remember this story well."

"Who doesn't?" Drako replied

"I love stories... do you think that we'll make are own story, you know, when we're out there." Mia said while gesturing to the window with her head.

"Who knows, there's plenty of adventure out there and knowing that then it's only down to us if we're part of the story?"

"What story?"

"Zaria's story."

They were both looking out the window now. Then a knock at Mia's door made them instantly turn around.

It was Scarlet, she came in and hugged Mia.

"I'm gonna miss you ya know."

"I'm gonna miss you too mum." Mia said as she hugged her mum tighter.

Scarlet spotted the cloak on Mia's bed but didn't question it; only a faint smile came from her lips.

"Where did all this stuff come from"?

"Ah, well most of it was your fathers back in his mercinary days before he met me and the bow was my great grand mother's. You come from a long line of hunters Mia, I'm telling you. My family have been hunting since my great, great, great, great grand father died.

"Wow." Murmured Drako

"So Drako have you got any hunting blood in you?" Scarlet asked.

"Uhh no just me I think."

"Well then you can be the first in what I'm sure will be a long line of magnificent hunters.

"Ha, well thats nice of you to say but I'm not sure thats going to happen."

Scarlet smiled at them both and left the room but before she was out the door she turned around and said. "Nice cloak by the way." And walked down the stairs.

Mia turned to Drako with a frown of confusion on her face.

"I thought your mum said she'd be back tomorrow."

"I know, but my dad is still out, maybe she had to come back to do a few things. I'll ask.

Mum, how come you're back so early."

There was no reply. Mia slowly walked down the stairs and saw that her mother had left but there was a note on the table, it read.

I said on the morrow.

Mia repeated the frown she gave earlier but included a faint laugh at the end of it. She heard Drako come down the stairs and turned to face him.

"A little late for your brother to be out don't you think?"

"Yeah I suppose, maybe he's taken my advice and gone adventuring." Mia said with a shrug.

"Maybe, but it's half ten don't you think we should be looking for him?"

"Well... I  guess so, but I'm sure he's fine."

In the middle of their conversation a knock at the door inturrepted them.

"Zenthar?" Mia exclaimed

She reached for the door handle and let him in.

"Quick, it's your brother he's..." He stopped and paused for a breath. "He's been pushed of a hill and I think he's broken a leg."

"Wait; what?" Mia questioned

"Who pushed him?" Drako said firmly.

"I don't know, he was just walking with me and some guy came out and pushed him. I think he ran off after that."

"Where is Larthax now?"

"He's still where I left him but he's with Tim."

"Aren't you guys coming then?"

Yeah, sure but I have to grab something first." Mia replied

"What?" Zenthar and Drako asked at the same time.

"You'll see, just wait here a second."

Roughly 20 seconds later she emerged from the bottom of the stairs carrying her bow with a quiver of iron arrows, her dagger and sword sheathed and most importantly she was dressed for the occasion in her new costume.

"What on Zaria are you wearing?" Said Kenzlath without even thinking to question the weaponry.

"Long story."
