Hi guys! Seeing as it is the Christmas holidays, I have decided to write up a small Christmas oneshot to get into the festivities. Although this is set around Christmas, should I do a series based on Laine and Shay's relationship? Let me know if I should or not.

I apologise in advance, I only came up with the story at the weekend. Also I apologise if the story is shitty. 😖

Enjoy! And Merry Christmas! 🎄

Shay's P.O.V.

Christmas Eve. One of the most exciting nights of the year. The final build up to the big day.....

If you haven't guessed already, I am a HUGE fan of Christmas. I love everything about it. Putting up the tree and decorations, watching films whilst snuggled up in numerous fluffy blankets, the jumpers....when I say I like Christmas, I mean it.

Not only is Christmas my favourite time of the year, but this year I get to spend it with someone who I really care about, and that is my girlfriend Laine. We only started dating last year, but it seems like longer. See, the thing with Laine is that she's not like other girls I know. Laine is a vampire. I don't mind it, but saying that I am the only person who knows she's a vampire, so that's not saying a lot.

We met a few years ago at our local university, we ended up meeting through the course we're studying, but we didn't end up getting together until around a year or so later.

I gotta say Laine has been the best girlfriend I have ever had....despite this being the only relationship I have ever been in.

So why is today probably the worst Christmas I have ever had?!

"I don't celebrate Christmas. Simple as that." Her voice thundered across the room, causing me to drop my sandwich. I look up from my plate and stare wide eyed at my vampire girlfriend. Laine leant against the doorway, her amber eyes glaring coldly at me.
"Look, I know you've told me about how your coven would make you celebrate Christmas against your will and whatnot, but surely this year will be different, won't it?!" I argued whilst getting up from the stool behind the kitchen counter, sandwich long forgotten and walking up to her.

"How so?" She questioned, her eyes never leaving mine. From this close I can see how hard she's trying to not lose her cool around me. I looked at her, anger slowly bubbling up inside of me at her nerve.
"You're joking right?" I said half-heartedly, backing away slightly.
"Because you'll be celebrating it with me! Your girlfriend!" I begun to shout, letting the anger take over.
"This will be our first Christmas together as a couple! I want to make it special for the both of us!" My eyes begin to fill with tears as I begin to get upset.
"But if you don't want to celebrate, then...."
"Then, what?" Laine asks. I paused. I took a deep breath and thought carefully.
"Then......I'm leaving. Leaving here for the holidays to celebrate at home with my family." I said, moving past Laine and heading to the front door.

"Shay, don't be like this." Laine says as she catches up to me just as I'm about to get in my car.
"Laine, please. I'm serious. If you don't want to celebrate, it's fine by me. I'll just head home and stay with my mother. I'll be back for New Years." I say giving her a kiss on her cheek, before getting into the car and driving away from our shared accommodation and headed to my family home. The tears that were threatening to spill begun to fall in floods as I reflect on what I said.

"I've lost her now. Haven't I?" I thought to myself as I drove to my parents house.

Laine's P.O.V

I watched as Shay's car drove away from me, the cold wind blowing my way causing my hair to blow in all sorts of directions. I stormed back into the house, slamming the door and proceeded to lose my temper. Fangs protruding, claws out and eyes turning a vicious bloody black colour. I snapped.........
