The wind blows my hair through the air, some which smacks my face then waves goodbye as it flies in different directions. The drive is short, but long enough to think. To calm the anxiety running through my veins and mind. Soon enough I pull into the parking lot of the small building in which I call my job, Bethany's. A barbecue joint close to my home that is booming each night.

I check the clock on my stereo to see it is 11:45, my shift begins at 12. This happens to be a ritual I completely each day before clocking in, staying in the parking lot twenty minutes before walking through the doors. I look at the cars to my left, where all my other co- workers park. I don't park there. I see that there is Dylan, we had another one but he left a few weeks ago to journey with his soon- to- be wife. The sadness I felt by the only one who spoke to me at this place left was raveling. Then there is Madison. Who came soon after he left which made the world a lot better of a place. And there is kady, a woman whom is close to the age of thirty-five and is the same size as with a figure of a twig. I am not that figure. I check the time again to see only four minuets has passed. I take out my phone and look through my social media.. nothing interesting so far.

Time goes by slow but soon enough 11:55 rolls around and I feel obligated to walk through the doors now. There are too, a take out door and an welcome door. I go through the first one. The building was once two, but Justin, the owner decided to connect them both but it is still noticeable. I walk into the next room. No one welcomes me. I give a simple smile to Miranda, a really short elderly lady that sits behind the cash register. She hasn't said a word to me in the month that I've been working here. Some of me is okay with that. I punch in my clock in code then retrieve back to the first room where my hostess table awaits for me. I revise which sections the team decided.. Dylan : first, Madi: third, Kady: fourth. I look around and see them attending their tables, refilling and carrying food. I check for dirty tables. Which there are quiet a few.

Three o'clock rolls around, which means shift swap. Dylan takes his break because he stays. The girls finish up their tables and I erase their names from the boards. In comes Lilly, Amanda, then Alexis. I attend school with Lilly. She is trouble, but she's funny and makes work worth the while. Alexis I don't speak to her, she calls me quiet girl.. I'm just intimidated by each thing I see..  that's all.

"Hey girl hey." Lilly announces soon as she gets into the room. I serve her a smile. She is at least three inches smaller than I. Her hair reachers her butt which is the size of Jupiter. Her make up isn't done kindly. "You doublin?" She asks me and I nod

"Yes ma'am, every Saturday." My schedule is simple, Thursday: 4:8 Friday: 4:8: Saturday: 12-8. Hers, being a server is obviously different. "I am about to go get come forks you wanna roll?" I ask her and she nods. Typically this is my job alone, but Lilly isn't the one to do as told. I walk into the kitchen where the silverware is tucked away.. still wet from the dish washer. I collect the forks and grab and case of napkins and walk into the first room. We take a seat at a booth in front of the hostess table so I can still see the door. I repeat the same pattern each time. Place fork on talkin, put napkin over, roll, tuck in sides, roll to complete. Lilly has trouble but i don't correct her.

The door opens and the bell rings over it. And my face drops once the person I thought I would never see again walks through the doors.
