A cold breeze filled the snowy valley, sending shivers through the air. A bit of snow swirled around, covering the plants that still remained. It was silent, cold, and beautiful. A big forest could be seen in the distance, very snowy and stiff.
As the valley was still, a small sneeze broke the silence. In the snow a tiny white kitten traveled, blending in to the snow so no animal could find her. She seemed to be shivering, her fluffy fur could not keep her warm in all of this snow. She looked back and forth, hoping to find somewhere to hide for the night.
A little ways away, a log covered in snow could barley be seen. The kit smiled and ran through the snow. She tripped a couple of times, getting a face full of snow. But she did not let that stop her from finding a good place to stay. As she got into the log, a little warmth went through her. No holes but a small one, where she could fit, could be seen. She curled up bringing a sigh of relief. And fell soundlessly to sleep.
"Raaaa!! RAAA!!" A scream filled the air scaring the she-kit awake. Her fur was fluffed up, the call still steering. "RRAAA!! RAAA!!" The kit peaked out of her hole. As she did, a flash of feathers filled her face. Giant yellow claws hooked inches away from her head. She brought her head back inside just in time. Her heart beating faster then ever.
A yellow talon could be seen poking through the hole. The hole was to small for it to fit, so it soon gave up. The kit sat for a little bit, not sure if it was really gone. She soon poked her head back out, bracing for the claws that would scratch her. But nothing came, just snow. It was silent again.
She got out of the log, her fluffy fur keeping warm only a little longer, until the breeze hit her again. She squealed a little, not expecting the cold hitting her so fast.
She looked back at the log, thanking it for it's warmth and safety. She had to find more shelter soon, she could feel a storm coming.
She looked around. Her eyes stopped at the forest. That was her only chance. She stepped through the snow, ready for the wonders that lay in there.
