Ariana's POV
I held my little baby in my arms, cooing at her as I cradled her.
"Shes so cute." I said, kissing her forehead.
"We completely forgot one thing." I laughed, looking up at my soulmate with adoration.
"What's that?" He asked, hovering over us.
"A name." I smiled, caressing her cheek.
"Charlotte. It means small and strong." Jai suggested.
"That's a beautiful name, and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you." I grabbed his hand.
The world finally felt at peace, I felt accomplished. I have a beautiful daughter, the perfect life partner. Nothing could go wrong.
In life, you just know when you've reached that point of success. When suddenly, everyone that doubted your ability gets proven wrong.
"I think," Jai said. "I need to tell you something."
"I wanted to wait until the baby was born just so there wasn't any excessive emotion."
This was it! He's going to do it! He's going to-
"I want to break up."
Break up with me? WHAT!?
"What?! We have a child together! What the fuck Jai?!" I yelled at him.
"Ari, I'm always gonna be here to support the baby but I-
"You couldn't have told me, so I could abort the baby?" I asked, shutting him out.
"Ariana! We're in a hospital where plenty of women everyday experience fertility problems, have stillborns and miscarriages and you wanna use that word in an insensitive way?"
"I've always wanted a baby, especially a daughter." He added
"Stop trying to gaslight me, Jai. I didn't have a baby just so I could be a single mother! I'm a child of divorce, I know how hard it is to have parents that aren't together." I argued, he was so selfish and illogical.
"If we coparent and co-operate with each-
"You realise, regardless if we coparent, she's still going to question why aren't her parents together like the kids on the streets that she sees. She's going to notice it's not normal."
"She'll be fine."
"You're so selfish, Jai." I scoffed, before kicking him out of the room and never speaking to him again.
"I'm gonna try my best, Charlotte."
