Why y'all in Ms.Ruby's house?

It had been two weeks since Alex and Derek's wedding and since they found Ms. Ruby murdered in her house. The day Alex and Derek thought would be one of the best day of their lives became the worst day they would never forget. Angel was on life support and Cassie was able to pull through; Carlotta and her mother never leaving her side. Mateo's wife Nina received the news on his death and had the funeral with some of the workers and artists from the label and his family. It seemed like no one one could ever be happy.
Alex and Derek were getting dressed and packing their suitcases at the hotel to get ready to go back to Ms. Ruby's house. Alex was not trying to go back in that house. After seeing all of the blood that was on the kitchen floor and on the walls when they had returned from the wedding made her panic attacks even worse.
"Derek do we really have to go back in the house? We can just live in the hotel till we find an apartment."
Derek scoffed "Yes! For the last and final time we are going back. I'm not letting these niggas run me out my house."
Alex just shook her head, she was too mentally worn out to argue with him.
They had finally arrived to the house, Derek parked Alex's car on the street next to Ms. Ruby's house. They got out of the car and headed for the front door; Alex following behind him. Derek unlocked the front door and stepped inside the house, it felt so dark and cold. He missed his grandmother greeting him at the door when he got home asking how his day went. He couldn't understand how people could be this cruel and kill a defenseless older woman. He wish his grandma would of let him kill Ray-Ray. If he could get his hands on the Bankhead crew he would kill every last one of them.
As Alex stepped into the house she could feel her chest tightening up, her breathing going rapid and her vision going blurry. Alex put her hands over her head trying to calm herself down but it didn't work. Derek could hear Alex's heavy breathing and turned around.

"Alex what's wrong?" He asked with an annoyed look on his face.

"I can't breath." Alex said breathless.

"Just go outside and catch your breath. I'll be there in a minute." Derek said kind of annoyed.
Alex pushes out of the front door still breathing heavy she walked to the backyard and sat in the chair they had on the patio. As she was trying to catch her break she heard the back door screech open from Carlotta's house. She saw that it was Ms. Bruce and quickly turned her head the other way so he wouldn't see her crying and breathing heavily. But it was too late he already saw her.

"Alex, Girl what's wrong?"

"Nothing, I'm fine I swear."

"Mmhmm." Bruce said not believing what Alex was saying. "I'm coming over there, don't you move."

Bruce came around and pushed the gate that was halfway open and sat down next to Alex and said.

"Now tell what is wrong and don't bullshit me."

"I can't stay in that house." Alex said shaking her head.

"Now why in the hell would y'all still be staying at Ms. Ruby house." Bruce said with a confused look on his face.

"Derek wants us to move back there. He said he's not gonna let these people run him out of his house.

"Well last time I checked that's Ms. Ruby house not his. He should've been got y'all moved out  instead of having you guys sleep in his bed with cement blocks under it! That's ridiculous that he still has you staying there since y'all been together. Y'all married now wouldn't you want a fresh start anyway."

"Of course I do, but he said he still needs to save some more money. I even told him I'd help him but it's like he gets angry at me whenever I try to help; I don't know what to do."

"Whatever happened to that wheelchair money he got?"

"He has some of it but he put most of it into Cassie's club. He thought it would be a good investment. Most of my money went into the wedding, because he gave some of it away to some of his beggin' family members."

"Oh lord, help this boy. That explains why he hasn't gotten no car yet. God bless Ms. Ruby soul but she never let that boy grow up. I guess she felt bad about both his parents being dead that she didn't want him to go through anything else so she coddled him." Bruce said shaking his head. "Just hang in there girl, it will all be over soon."
As Bruce was finishing up talking Derek opened the backdoor to the backyard and looked directly at Alex ignoring that Ms. Bruce was there.
"Alex I need you to come back in so when can get settled in; we also got to get things done before the service on Saturday."

Alex looked at Derek completely worn out. "Derek I told you I can't go back into that house. Why aren't you listening to me?"

Derek rolled his eyes. "Why in the hell are you acting like this? I'm the one that should be like this not you. I'm not gonna let these people fuck with my life, because I swear once I found out where the rest of this Bankhead crew is at I'm killing ever last one of them!"

"Don't be fucking stupid Derek your gonna get yourself killed. You act like your the only one affected by this. I loved your grandmother too, I don't understand why you want to fight me every step of the way."

Bruce just stood there captivated by the argument that was going on in front of him.

"Why are you still here? Helloooo you. Yes you!" Derek said looking at Ms. Bruce. "This is a conversation between my wife and I. I don't know why your still here."

Alex looked at Derek shocked "Derek why are you being so ru-."

Bruce cut Alex off "It's okay girl I'm gonna head on back."

As Bruce was headed back to Carlotta's house he mumbled to himself. "He betta be glad his grandmother died not too long ago or I'd fuck him and that man-bun up."

Alex looked at Derek disgusted " Derek I can't believe you just said that, that was so rude!"

"Whatever! Are you coming back in or not?"

"I told you I can't go back in there."

"Fine, then go. I'll put your suitcase back in your car and don't even think about coming to the funeral."

Alex looked at Derek enraged "What! Are you fucking serious right now!"

"Yes I am!" Derek slammed the door as he went back inside with Alex behind him yelling at him with tears streaming down her face. He took Alex's suitcase and took it outside to the car and put it in the trunk.

"Derek I can't believe your doing this!" Alex said her heart breaking with every word she said.

"Well believe it! Come back when you can actually be there for me, like a wife should." When he finished talking he turned back to the house and slammed the door shut behind him. Alex slowly got in the driver seat and stared out the windshield for a moment then put her car in drive and headed to the place that would maybe give her some peace. The studio.
