It was the night before Christmas
Everything was fine, jolly and bright
At Gio's Mansion,  the balls were twinkling
On  the giant Christmas tree, all alight

At the porch were merry gatherers
Smiles,  happy and true
With the Christmas and cold weather
Wouldn't you be ecstatic too?

"We're out of wine," Reianne remarked
With a slight grin on her face
Dangling the empty bottle
She ran outside with haste

"I told you to take it easy," was Gio's reply
"You never listen to me," the man frowned and sighed
"Oh,  quit yapping," Rei stated in jest
"I'll just run to the store, no need to protest."

"Take me with you," Quin yelled with her pleading tone
"I can carry the baskets, and you wouldn't be alone"
"Better stay here,  dear sister," Rei answered back
"Please make sure that the sausages, wouldn't be charcoal black"

"Aren't your friends coming?" Gio frowned again
"Wouldn't it be awkward,  for you to be absent then?"
Rei paused,  and wondered, and weighed the pros and cons
But ultimately decided her friends wouldn't mind  a ton

"Michael's cool,  you've met him," Rei smiled her best
"And Marie's an angel, no need to jest."
So Rei went out the Mansion,  on Christmas eve no less
To buy enough wine for herself and company,  guiltless

Out she went,  past the Mansion's big gates
Into the cool, crisp Christmas weather, with no time to waste
It was just several hours before Christmas time
And to miss this event would indeed be a crime

She went to the first store that was nearest the Mansion
But alas,  the lights were off,  doors shut for the occasion
Rei sighed and frowned, but with great determination
She walked onto the second nearest store location

"What the fuck fuckery is this?" she said in exasperation
When the second store was likewise closed, damnation!
She eyed her clock,  half an hour already gone
However,  what choice was there,  but to just carry on

The third store's location was farther away
She walked in circles and soon lost her way
She facepalmed,  and sighed, time was wasting away
She just could not bear to ruin this day

On she walked, to the very edge of the town
For a store with alcohol, and suddenly frowned
This place is unfamiliar, she noted with concern
The right street to take,  she could no longer discern

Moreover, on a street corner,  she spotted anxiously
Several shadowy figures,  all staring creepily
With a groan and a sigh,  Rei massaged her temples
A headache was forthcoming, the night was in shambles

"Give me a fucking break," Rei stated in despair
All she wanted was a drink or several, to be fair
"Is it too much to ask?" she let out a puff of air
"Can I not enjoy Christmas, without this much fanfare?"

Alas,  the universe was not very kind
With Christmas around the corner, it surely didn't mind
For our heroine,  problems came to find
In the form of creeps, with IQs lagging behind

"Hey,  I know her," Creep No.  1 jeered
"Isn't she the girl with the billionaire?" he sneered
With this statement,  their eyes flashed with greed
The smell of money, to good to not heed

"Let's take her to the boss," Creep No. 2 suggested
Eyes malevolent,  though that was expected
"We can get a huge ransom," he further stated
The others all nodded their heads, elated

Another groan of frustration escaped Rei's lips
She couldn't believe it all came down to this
She felt for her needles with her fingertips
Her pockets were empty, she let out a hiss
