Fast times at patterson high

Today was my first day of school.

I woke up to the sound of my alarm and took a shower. Living in California all of my life I was not use to the cold Novembers in Chicago.

I changed into a black 21 pilots t-shirt with a pair of black ripped skinny jeans and a pair of red vans. I dried my hair and left it wavy. I added my black nose ring and mascara. I slipped on a grey cardigan and walked out.

"Ready for your first day of school?" Antonio asked. "Yeah," I said and sat down. "nervous?" Antonio asked. "a little" I said. "Your mom called" Antonio said. "I'll call her back on my way there" I said and started eating my toast.

"Ready?" Antonio asked. "yes" I said and I got up and slipped on my black peacoat. "let's go" Antonio said and we walked out.

"Hey mom" I said into the phone once we got into the car.

"How've you been?"

"I've been great, you?"

"Good"

"That's great"

"Nervous for your first day?"

"Kinda"

"Don't worry everything will be great"

"Thanks"

"Good luck"

"Thanks"

"Well I should get going, I have to go to work"

"Bye"

"Bye" I hung up and sent Luka and Sabrina a message.

Me:first day of school

Luka:how you feeling?

Me:nervous.

Sabrina:first day for us was so boring, we missed you

Me:I miss you guys too, how's everyone?

Luka:we're doing okay, junior year isn't that great.

Me:how's Quentin?

Sabrina:I'll text you later, I just got up. good luck x

Me:thanks x

Luka:I gotta go too, Hey good luck remember you can always move into my basement if everything goes wrong.

Me:get in the shower if it all goes wrong

Luka:and this is why your amazing because you quote songs!

Me:just arrived, I'll text you during class.

Luka:good luck x

Me:thanks x

I placed my phone in my pocket and took a deep breath. "want me to walk you in?" Antonio asked. "please" I said. We walked out and walked into the office.

"I'm here to check in Alexandria Marquez" Antonio said. "sign here" she said and gave him a clipboard. "classes are down the hall to your right" she said and went back to typing. "have a great day" Antonio said and gave me a hug. "Thank you" I said and walked out.

I walked down the hall and pulled out my schedule.

"AP Physics" I said and started looking for room 176.

After fifteen minutes of looking I gave up and sent Zelda a text.

Me:I'm lost

Zelda:what do u have first hour?

Me:AP physics

Zelda:who's your teacher

Me:Gale

Zelda:were are you?

Me:outside of room 123

Zelda:take a left and go up the stairs

Me:thanks

I walked down the hall and turned left and walked up the stairs.

I stood outside the classroom and took a deep breath.

I slowly opened the door and walked in. "how can I help you?" A tall man in his late twenties asked. "I'm Alexandria Marquez" I said. "yes they told me you were coming, take a seat wherever you'd like" He said. "I'm Mr. Gale" he said. "nice to meet you" I said and took a seat in the front, next to a guy with blond hair. I looked around and saw that the class was a total of fifteen kids.

As soon as class was over I pulled out my schedule and walked out. "hey I'm Brayden" he said and stretched out his hand. "Alexandria, but you can call me Alexa" I said and shook his hand. "are you new here?" Brayden asked. "yes," I said,"I just moved in my uncle" I said. "Where do you live?" Brayden asked. "by Magnolia blvd" I said. "that's near Cambridge high, why are you going here?" Brayden asked. "my friend goes here" I said. "who's your friend?" Brayden asked. "Zelda Sanders" I said. "hey can I see your schedule?" Brayden asked. "sure" I said and handed him my schedule. "We have every class together" Brayden said. "Can you show me around?" I asked. "yeah" Brayden said and we walked off to Advanced trigonometry.

"My name is Alexandria Marquez" I said to the teacher. "my name is Mrs. Alan, everyone has a partner but I'll have you sit in the back behind Miguel and Lamar" Mrs. Alan said,"Miguel, Lamar raise your hand" Mrs. Alan said and I saw as two guys raised their hands. I walked to the back and sat behind them. I took out my notebook and started copying on the notes.

After the notes we got a worksheet.

"Hey girl, let me get your number" I heard a voice say. I ignored it and continued working. "hey girl, let me get your number" I heard someone say again. I took a deep breath and flipped the page. "damn she's already on the second page" I heard him say again. I looked up and saw the two guys looking at me. "can I help you?" I asked. "give me your number and then we'll see" Lamar said. "I'm good" I said. "you sure are" Miguel winked. I took in a deep and calmed myself down. I placed my paper in my backpack and got up. "may I go to the bathroom" I asked. "yes" Mrs. Alan said and I walked off.

I took a right and sat on a bench inside the bathroom and sent Luka and Sabrina a text.

Me:ugh first day of school and I'm already getting harassed.

Luka:who??

Me:these two guys they're asking me for my number.

Luka:don't listen to those fuckboys.

Me:I won't.

Luka:how's school so far?

Me:okay, I'm in math.

Luka:I'm going into Photo, I'll text u in a bit

Me:okay

I stuffed my phone in my pocket and walked back.

I sat back in my desk and was relieved when I saw that Miguel and Lamar had turned around.

After class I walked with Brayden to our next hour class.

"Damn girl I love the way you rock those jeans" I heard Miguel say. I ignored the comment and continued walking. "hey why don't you bring that ass over to my place sometime, I'll show you a good time" Lamar said. I've had enough of the comments. I turned around and stood face to face. "leave me the alone" I growled. I turned around and continued walking with Brayden.

"Who are you really?" Brayden asked.
