What Actually Happened In Capetown

It was the night before they left, and Ryan had gotten very drunk, he needed something to numb his fear, for tonight he was going to propose to Brendon.

Slowly Ryan walked down the corridor, towards the room they shared, fiddling with the ring in his pocket. When he reached the door, he waited outside it for a minute, before pushing it open.

"Brendon" Ryan said, he waited as the younger boy turned around. Ryan got down on one knee, and cleared his throat. "Brendon, I've been in love with you for 5 years, those 5 years have been the best years of my life, and I would like to spend the rest of my life with you. So Brendon Boyd Urie will you marry me?" One hugely long minute passed as Brendon remained silent, Ryan tried to stop the tears pouring down his face, his heart fell as he noticed that Brendon was crying to.

"I can't Ryan, we are to young, it's not even legal!" Ryan's heart broke, he let out a son, he wanted Brendon more than anything in the whole wide world, but Brendon didn't love him enough.

Ryan turned and left, "Wait!" Brendon's heartbroken voice called out. Ryan carried on walking, he kept on going untill he got to Jon and Spencer's room. Ryan knocked, and Jon opened the door. "Oh My God Ryan, what happened?" Ryan just collapsed into him.

He heard Spencer say "I'm going to see if Brendon's okay." At the sound of his name, Ryan let out a loud sob, and tried to muffle it in John's duvet. He watched as his best friend left, to check on his ex boyfriend.

Ryan felt Jon hug him tightly; he knew  Jon was just trying to be nice, but it just made him miss Ryan even more. He wanted to be with Brendon, but he couldn't go back. Why had he even asked Brendon to marry him, of course he wouldn't say yes, he probably never even loved him.
Eventually the thoughts in Ryan's head calmed down, and he fell asleep.

Ryan woke up to Spencer and Jon shouting at each other, "HE SAID NO SPENCER, OF COURSE RYAN IS UPSET." Jon shouted. "BRENDON JUST WASN'T READY." Spencer screamed. Jon walked over to Ryan, "Ryan we're leaving." Jon said.

After they'd collected their stuff, Ryan and Jon walked out, leaving behind 5 years of a carefully built life.
