Clarke felt as if it was impossible to even open her eyes to see where they had taken her.Her head was still hurting from that guard kocking her out.Truth is,she was happy she could take another moment to prepare emotionally and mentally before having to open her eyes. After seeing what the people from Mount Weather were doing, having to face the Reapers, fighting Anya and then finally being close to getting an agreement between her people and the grounders and just seeing it all go away once Anya had been shot, she just needed a moment to get it all together.
She knew the people who attacked her and Anya were from the Ark,but she didn't know why.Did they look like a threat in their pathetic clothes, both covered in mud and bruises and blood?Did they think that the two of them in that pathetic state and without any weapons were an actual threat?Did they think they were Grounders spying on the Ark's former inhabitants?
Clarke could then hear voices having an argument somewhere close to the place where they were holding her.How long had she been there?Footsteps followed soon after the voices stopped arguing. She could've bet they were arguing about her.But who did the voices belong to?All of them were familiar, but Clarke couldn't figure out how many of them there were or who they belonged to,her head still wasn't in the best condition and she supposed she had a mild concussion.
The footsteps grew louder soong enough,as if someone was running towards her and she then felt a small pair of arms wrapping around her, then retreating and going to her face. She must've looked so bad,all blood and dirt.
"Clarke?Clarke, honey, can you hear me?" asked a female voice.No.Not any female voice.
"Mom?" Clarke replied in a small voice.
Abby calmed a little bit once she heard Clarke's voice. She made the guards untie her and gave her daughter a proper hug for the first time in what felt like forever.Clarke was so happy to have her mom back,no matter how many wrong choices she had made, she was there and Clarke just needed her to be there for a while before she could go back to what was now her life. After they managed to pull back, they looked at each other properly.
Abby looked good, healthy and wearing clean clothes, unlike Clarke who was a mess inside out.Happily enough,Abby could only see the outside part, probably guessing about the inside, but also assuming that she wouldn't want to talk about it.Abby couldn't believe the guards didn't immediately let Clarke go after they recognised her. There was plenty of time to ask about the other woman and the kids that were still gone.
She just wanted to let Clarke be for a moment, she must've been through so much, she already had been through more than enough in the time they knew about, only God knew what had happened with her ever since the Grounder attack.Clarke's thoughts were all over the place, but once she was able to made the tiniest bit of sense she tried hard to keept it together and started speaking as clearly as she could, but urgency was obvious in her tone.
"Mom,I need to see my friends. Are any of my friends here?"
Abby hesitated for a moment.
"Mom!" Clarke half shouted.
"There were a couple of kids here.Finn and Murphy are still gone.Raven's in camp, working, but she's not completely herself, she had a severe bullet wound and one of her legs isn't working properly.Monroe came back hurt by a poisoned arrow, but we now know how to fix that, thank God." Abby hesitated.
"Is that everyone?" Clarke was now shouting with urgency.
She didn't give Abby the chance to finish, she didn't give her the chance to say anything else because Clarke was just terrible worried that the one person she had grown closest to since she came there was gone and she could take.Abby was on the point of telling her that Octavia and Bellamy were back as well, but Clarke was already leaving, she ran outside the door, every part of her aching, moved past the guards and started looking around to see if anyone else was there,if anyone else managed to survive. If someone in particular had.
Clarke's feet stopped moving once she got to the middle of the camp. She could see Raven looking at her for not far away, she could see familiar faces from back on the Ark,and ... She wasn't sure, but her feet started moving again before she could figure out whether she was right or wrong.
"Clarke?" Octavia's voice shouted, making the figure next to her turn around.
Bellamy's features were now in the light and Clarke could see his faces clearly. She was sure now.For some reason unknown to even her,she just knew all along that Bellamy couldn't be dead,he simply couldn't.And he wasn't.Before she even realised it,they were both headed towards each other, happier to see one another than they ever thought they would be.It was funny to think about how they started off basically disliking each other and how they ended up after all the time spent together on Earth.
Clarke ran straight into Bellamy's arms, which tensed around her.Her arms were aound his neck,a smile quickly spreading across her face. She ignored the pain that was still in her shoulder, just letting herself get lost into Bellamy's embrace.Bellamy's arms were tightly shut around her waist, not wanting to ever let go of her again, his face burried in her hair, tears almost streaming down his face.He was overwhelmed by the relief of knowing Clarke was alrighty after all the time they spent apart. They stayed there in silence for a moment, simply happy that the other one was there and they were fine, then Bellamy's husky voice whispered in Clarke's ear "Don't ever disappear on us again like that, princess."
Clarke felt happy, just hearing him call her "princess" again gave her a sense of normality,it made her believe that everything was possible now that they were together again. They could take on the Grounders and Repears and Mountain people.
Octavia just stood there, feeling a little uncomfortble,as if she was intruding on something personal, but a shy smile spread across her face as well, not just because she was happy that Clarke was well, but because she could've bet that this was the happiest Bellamy had felt except for maybe that moment he got her back.
Bellamy's mind,on the other hand, was just emptied of all the worries for once, all he knew was that he had his sister back and that now Clarke was there as well. She was bruised and hurt, but she was there and he didn't want to let go.He didn't even think about what he was doing or what was going on around there,he was just aware of Clarke's presence. He let his lips press a kiss on her forehead, then carefully took her hand in his and told her softly "Let's get you cleaned up,princess, those wounds are going to get infected."
She just smiled and let him guide her.She was fine going anywhere as long as he was fine and he was with her.The world could wait one more day to be saved.
