The tapping of the girl's pencil matched the ticking of the clock beside her bed. Her eyes scanned the paper up and down, making note of everything on the list that had check marks beside it, or had yet to be checked off. She leaned back in her chair, letting her long, blonde hair cascade over the back. She had been staring at this paper for nearly thirty minutes – arguing, discussing, talking to herself both verbally and mentally to prepare for the next day. One last time Yang, she thought, One more before bed.

Her eyes darted to the first line – she had ordered the ring in advance and it just had to be picked up in the store. Her eyes fell to the second line – she had asked Blake out to a quote-on-quote "Christmas date" several days ago and they both promised nothing would change in terms of the time. That was the most nerve-wracking part – trying to get Blake to promise to come without it looking suspicious. Her eyes scanned the next few lines lazily before it fell to the final two: bake something for Ruby's Christmas party, and three words in huge lettering that just wrote "THE BIG THING!"

The scene replayed in her mind – she'd been to that plaza before. Everything would go smoothly, from the fancy dinner date to the nice evening walk, and she made sure she knew when the giant Christmas tree in the plaza would be lit up. She had all of this planned out perfectly, so why was her heart still racing? Why was she so stressed? People got married every day, why should her proposal be any different? Yang took a deep breath and flopped down onto her bed, letting the ocean of pillows engulf her. She grabbed one at random and shoved it under her head before drifting off to sleep, her mind calmer, but still thinking of tomorrow.
