When Jesus left, Lightning didn't know what to do for a while. He thought for a bit, sitting alone in his garage, before coming to the decision to visit his best friend Tow Mater's place.
A very short drive later, he was right by a sleeping Mater. Lightning used his tractor tipping skills to wake Mater up.
"Huh...? What's going- Lightning?" Mater says, confused.
"I need to talk to you about something." Lightning says softly. "Something... something personal to me."
Mater nods. "Go ahead, partner. What's on your mind."
Mater pulls out a clipboard and starts taking notes like a therapist.
"That's a little unneccecary, don't you think?"
"No. The clipboard stays or I go."
Lightning sighs deeply. "Fine, I guess. What's on my mind is that... I have a crush on someone."
Mater widens his eyes. "On who?"
Lightning smiles and says "You won't believe this, but I just spent 3 hours talking to Jesus."
Mater laughs for a while, and then stops. "You're being serious, aren't you?" Lightning nods. "I sure am."
"Well, I'll be damned." Lightning looks at Mater with worry. "In 18 hours, you might well be."
Mater stares, shocked. "WHAT?!"
Lightning tries to play what he said off. "It's nothing. Nothing to worry about. At all. Everything is fine. We're fine. It's nice weather today, isn't it. Yes." He breathes quickly.
"God, Lightning. You're so bad at lying." Mater laughs.
"DO NOT USE THE LORD'S NAME IN VAIN YOU UNCULTURED CRETIN." Lightning's bodywork begins to glow yellow as he starts going Super Saiyan. "VARIOUS ANIME WORDS!!!!!!" Lightning yells, Mater being pushed back from the force being exerted from Lightning. "I HAVE THE POWER OF GOD AND ANIME ON MY SIDE!"
He does the anime thing where he punches so fast you can't see the punches but with his wheels instead of fists because he is car.
Mater yells in pain. "Stop! Please!"
Lightning stops suddenly, sees Mater cowering beneath him, and a tear forms in his eye. "I'm a monster." He plugs in his AirPods, begins some classic emo music (to be precise, he was playing Numb by Linkin Park) and drove off in a bad mood.
Lightning drives to the edge of one of Radiator Springs' cliffs, and looks down at the world below. He smiles a little, admiring all of the beautiful wildlife in the area. He hears a noise to the left of him. Jesus was back. Just like in the books. Hell yeah.
