Chapter 14: Rescuing Percy

Poseidon Pov

I was sitting on the blanket listening to Amphrite as she was talking about her plans to go shopping with Hera tomorrow. I kept one eye on my youngest son as he was collecting flowers near the little pond behind our home.

I looked away from my son for a second because I got distracted by my older sons Orion, Theseus and Triton walking towards with their wives walking slightly behind them talking quietly. I couldn't help but think how lucky I was to have all my sons being able to be here for some family time.

Amphrite and I stood up to greet our sons that we didn't expect to join us today since they all said they were busy today doing their godly duties. When I looked towards where Percy was playing near the pond and saw an unknown god that I couldn't see too well pushing my little boy into the pond.

When I heard Percy start screaming, I stood up and froze the person who was trying to sneak away and ran towards the pond doing my best to try to catch him before he fell into the water. But by the time to the water edge he was already in the water and going deeper by the minute.

As I turned around to take my shirt off to go after him, I saw Triton already jumping in after his brother.

"Go get Apollo and tell him to get over here its urgent," I yelled breathlessly to Theseus

He nodded his head and flashed away to get his jokester of a cousin. Once I saw that he was already turning the corner to head towards Apollos palace I turned my attention to the lake and hoping that Triton found his brother quickly and is heading to the surface of the lake at the moment.

Triton Pov

When I saw Percy falling into the lake, I quickly took off my shoes and jumped in behind him wasting no time to get to him and get him out.

Once I saw fully submerged in the water I felt my feet turn into my tails and quickly propelled myself in the water swimming as fast as I could to get to my brother who was weakly fighting his way in the water trying to get to the surface but didn't have the strength to do anything.

Percy didn't have full control of his water powers, so he couldn't shift into a merman in stressful situations. Dad should have taught the boy to have more control over his powers from the beginning that way he could have maybe at least swam to the top of the lake by himself.

As I got closer to him, I started seeing him stop struggling to swim upwards so I pushed my tail as hard as I could to swim faster and get to him quicker. When I got near him, I reached out and grabbed him bringing him closer to my body and using my body to keep him from sinking father down.

I used the water around us and created a bubble around us to help him catch his breath and hopefully calm down to swim by himself to the surface with me helping him a little not all the way.

When the bubble was around us, he sucked in a deep breath and slowly coming to his senses quicker than I thought he might.

"deep breath Perce you're going to be fine," I said quietly

I watch him take a deep breath and let it out it made me feel a little better because I knew he would be fine once we got out of this lake and to our parents.

"are you good to swim to the top?" I asked

He nodded his head and he started to look around us in awe. Dad only let him swim around Atlantis with someone with him. I let him go and told him that I was going to let the bubble around us to drop so we could swim.

He gave me a nod of his head, so I dropped the bubble and started to make my way slowly upwards. I looked down to make sure Percy was following me and that he wasn't struggling in anyway.

As we got closer to the top, I noticed him start to slow down which I thought was weird due to the water should be healing him as we were swimming. I guess since he didn't have a hang of his powers, he wasn't using the water to help him.

Poseidon Pov

I sat on the bank looking blankly at the water waiting for my sons to surface. I heard Amphrite talking quietly to Hera and Hestia who which both just showed up just now. I'm guessing that Theseus ran into them and told them what was happening because I thought the two was busy doing their godly duties, so I didn't invite them to come and hangout with us earlier.

When I heard a noise not far from where we were standing, I looked up and saw Apollo flash in and walking quickly over to us looking worried.

"have they resurfaced yet," Apollo asked quickly

"no, it's been a couple of minutes since Triton jumped in after Percy," I answered

Apollo nodded but didn't respond because when I ended my sentence Triton head popped up from the water and seconds later Percy showed up. I ran into the water and grabbed Percy once he was within reaching distance from.

I pulled him from the water and walked back to the others so Apollo could check him over.

"I don't see anything wrong with him from the fall," said Apollo," if he was injured the water would have healed him enough for him to be better. All I can see is that he's exhausted so a nap wouldn't hurt but other then that he's as healthy as he can be."

"that's great," exclaimed Hera, "time for a nap before dinnertime," she said towards Percy who was sitting silently on the ground in between all of us.

"come Percy lets get you changed for a nap and out of those wet clothes," smiled Amphrite

Percy slowly got up from the ground and followed his stepmother into the palace behind them. Once they were inside, I turned towards my sisters who was both talking to each other quietly.

"were going to have to have a council meeting about this," I sighed

"yes, whoever did this might try again," said Hestia, "deal with this now then wait till is happens a second time when there's no one around to keep the boy safe."

We decided to call a council meeting when Percy went to bed tonight since I didn't want to leave the boy by himself just in case.

A/N: Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone. Hope you all like the chapter been having to find time to write it since I started nursing school in the fall. The goal was to have it done before new years but having it done now I'm not going to complain.
