Jefferson's POV~
Pinching the bridge of my nose, my father going on and on about some useless politic stuff. Taking a sip of my already cold coffee to numb the anxiety.
I've been doing online college for the past two years, having to go to a public college just doesn't seem... worth it, ya know? Either way, my father is set. Once my father is set? There's no changing his mind.
My best friend, Martha, sitting by my side, stroking my back. She wanted to see me go or somethin'? Not like she could see me all the time anyway, considerin' she's in college herself.
A large campus pulled into view, red brick buildings surrounding the premise. The Music building caught my eye, a large pastel mural was painted on the front, signifying music notes on a staff line, it looked really pretty, gotta say.
Father pulled into a parking garage, helping me carry some of my boxes. I took my backpack and suitcase, while Martha helped Father with the boxes. The second I had stepped inside the main building we were swarmed with different papers and badges and rules to follow. eventually I was assigned my dorm, room 1789, two person dorm.
Apparently my roommate has been here for the past three years, must be one grade above me or something. I thanked the front desk and headed off to find my dorm.
Father and Martha had left when we got into the school, leaving me with five boxes, a suitcase, and a backpack.
This is fine.
I stepped into the elevator and pressed the button for floor 17, just as the doors were closing, two people walked in.
One was slightly smaller than me, his scarlet hair was tied up in a low ponytail, curling down his neck. He had a backpack over his shoulder. I caught a glimpse at his lanyard, John Lou I think it said, he was talking to what I presume to be his friend. His untamed brown hair was also tied into a messy ponytail, he was short. Really short. I tried to read his lanyard, all I got was Al before a raspy vice hissed at me
"What're you looking at tough guy?" The small one glared at me through his glasses. The redhead... John? Yeah John, elbowed him.
"Chill Alex" he whispered, I set down the box I was holding and stuck out my hand to John
"Thomas Jefferson, I'm new here. You are?" I asked, though I generally knew the answer. John took my hand and shook it happily.
"I'm John Laurens, this is my friend Alex"
"Sup" Alex chimed in, still glaring
"Nice to meet you both. I assume you're on floor 17 as well?" I asked. Wow one hour in and I'm already talking to people. John smiled
"Yep! Room 1776, you?" Alex didn't seem very pleased I knew his room number. I shrugged it off though,
"1789, I don't know my roommate yet but I think their a year above me." John and Alex shared a look of sympathy
"Sorry dude" John started, "You got Aaron burr as a roommate" confused, I tilted myhead.
"Aaaaand...?" Alex shrugged
"Aaron's full of himself. He's no fun." He explained, "And dating that... weirdo Madison"
Now, I was intrigued,
"Madison? Who's she?" I asked, John shook his head
"He. James Madison, no one really knows a lot about him, but he's really rude. Burr's dating him, don't really know why though." John explained. Finally the doors opened, John helped me carry some of my boxes to my room, setting them down and placing his hands on his hips. "Aaron will be back any minute, nice to meet you Thomas!" John exclaimed, I waved goodbye to him, smiling softly
"It was nice to meet you too." I said, John turned and closed the door, leaving me with my thoughts.
Who was this Madison kid? Why is he so weird? And most importantly, when do I get to meet him.
