Ethan's P.O.V

They all lied to me. Benny lied to me. I cannot believe that he would do something like that to me. I am his best friend and he withheld this information about me and my life? That is some bull. Even though I got the truth I would have rather him lie to me and say that he was with Sarah. I threw myself on my bed. How could he do that to me? My parents rushed into my room saying that they heard me yelling. I told them that I was on watching a movie and that I was sorry if I disturbed them. I don't know what hurt me more. The fact that my friends lied to me or that my vision was right. Both hurt just as bad. 

I avoided Benny and Sarah all weekend. I avoided their calls and texts.  When Monday came around I spent time in the library ended up hanging out with Edward who was annoying. 

" Hey what is there to do around here? Also, what is the dating situation here?  Wait, when are exams again? Oh, when is -"

"Edward for the love of all that is holy. Shut. Up" I seethed. For the last 20 mins of study hall, all Edward asked me dumb questions when all I wanted to do was wallow and study in silence. 

"Geez calm down grouchy pants. I just wanna know stuff before the break." He defended

"Just take your excitement elsewhere,"  I rolled my eyes. 

"You have been extra grouchy today. What's going on?"  he asked.

"Look I don't know you and we are not friends. I'm not gonna just off load my life story to a stranger who can't take a hint that they are annoying," I lashed out "And no one cares about the break because it sucks here . Your best bet is to leave while you still can"

We were both silent.

"I know I'm new and I know that we aren't friends but it really seems like you need a friend right now. I only wanted to help," Edward said slowly. "I'll leave you alone then." He got up and started to pack his stuff up.

I really did need a friend and I really did feel like an ass to Edward. I didn't mean to lash out at him like that.

I took a deep breath. I gotta fix this.

"Edward wait," I called out,"I'm sorry for being an ass. Your right I do need a friend right now." Edward came back to the table and sat down. "I have been through a lot these last couple of years and it's been hard not being able to trust people right away."

"You can trust me. I don't know what you've been through but," he said taking my hand "I want to be your friend so let me in. No one deserves to feel alone." He lightly squeezed my hand.

I saw Edward in a new light. A potential friend. I gave him a small smile. Just then Benny burst through the library doors and my smile faded. He saw where we were sitting and my hand in Edward's he frowned.

"Ethan we need to talk about happened the other day it is important," he started.

"No it's not Benny. If it was important you would have told me months ago" I seethed.

"Ethan can we talk about this in private? Please?" He asked glancing over at Edward.

"Benny I have nothing to day to you. So please go away." I glared up at him.

" I think Ethan is right. Just back off and give him some space dude." Edward chimed in.

"I don't know who you think you are?" Benny seethed "But this doesn't concern you so stay out of it"

"It does when you are bothering my friend." Edward said.

The tension was suffocating and I wanted to nothing to do with it. I wanted no part in thier petty alpha masc game. 

" Look Benny," I said pinching the bridge of my nose "I'm not ready to talk to you yet. Just give me some space please" 

He sighed and nodded and walked out of the library.  The day had only begun and I was already tired.
