Choking on my wine I turned around and looked towards Avery, I expected her to be cringing but she wasn't, Avery was actually laughing along with everyone else.

"That's enough," with my uneasiness in mind, Aidan attempted to end the conversation.

"Are you spoiling our fun?" Jayden directed his comment to a smirking Aidan.

As everyone else continued talking, I studied Jayden for a moment, his black skin, caramel eyes and black shoulder-length locks. His vibe was definitely confident and sure of himself but also playful and fun. My eyes followed to his husband Mason who had gotten up and had now joined Aidan and Jace on the other sofa, he seemed a lot quieter and more reserved than Jayden.

Mason was a white guy with short strawberry-blond hair and a tall frame, both men appeared to be around the same age as Jace and Aidan.

My eyes then darted towards Sam who had stood up from the sofa, obviously leaving the three men to their own conversation. I observed her giving Jace a warm smile which he reciprocated, there was something between them, something I hadn't noticed before.

Sam came over and joined us on this sofa, she sat next to Avery as I shifted myself to sit crossed-legged on the comfortable blue cloth material.

"Earth to Rowan, are you listening?" Jayden tried to catch my attention by flouncing his arms around in front of me.

"Sorry, my mind was wandering," I took another massive gulp from my wine, with the effects of intoxication fast approaching.

"At least give up something juicy to go on. We've been waiting for Aidan to get laid again for a very long time," Jayden beamed through the whisky glass that was pressed to his lips. "Please tell me that man gives the best orgasms."

"Yes... no... I mean he's the only one that has given me one," I whispered, fueled by Dutch courage.

Jayden's eyes became wide, he clearly didn't expect me to actually admit that. His face contorted from surprise to self-satisfaction, his grin told me that I had just given him the gossip of the year.

To be fair, I actually surprised myself that those words slipped from my mouth. However, I felt like it was okay to open up to him. I knew I was in the company of Aidan's most trusted friends, his inner circle and somehow that eased my apprehension.

"Honey, that's so sad but at least you now have Aidan to fulfil your needs," Jayden grinned.

"I always knew you wanted to bed me," Aidan jested and my eyes locked with his. The smile on his face was no doubt just as big as the one in his jeans was.

All the guys continued to banter with each other, Mason was accepting of the quips that were being passed between his best friend and his husband.

My gaze flickered to Jace who had an all-knowing grin on his face, that was twice he had walked in on us now and the satisfaction most definitely showed through the smugness he was wearing.

"What's going on with you and Jace?" I asked Sam, whose face instantly lit up just at the mention of his name.

"It's been a recent development," she beamed, "we've just started seeing each other."

"You look so happy," I observed.

"We are, how did you notice that?"

"Just the subtle mannerisms between the two of you, it's obvious if you look hard enough," I smiled.

"What about you?" Sam asked, "you're living here with Aidan and haven't been to work all week."

"It's complicated," I looked between Avery and Jayden who were whispering quietly between themselves, with Jace, Aidan and Mason having their own conversation on the other sofa and no longer paying attention to us. "I got kicked out from where I was staying so Avery and Aidan said I could stay here for a while."
