Day with Eli, Day of Fun

It honestly took me a long time to get ready. Actually, the longest time it has ever taken me to get ready for doing something casual. Yeah, school dances, weddings, and maybe even church makes sense to take a lot of time to get ready but it's kind of odd if it's an ordinary day. I know that all may sound confusing, but that's what was going on in my head. It might just be the fact that it's only 11:00am, or that im pregnant.
I came out of my closet, walked downstairs, and noticed that Eli beat me to the car! I sat in the front, right next to him, and I noticed that he was actually on the phone talking to someone.
The voice I was hearing was so clear that I could tell that he was talk in with Mr. Simpson. About a minute after I got into the car, he finished his phone call with my principal.
"Was that Simpson?" I asked.
"Yeah; I actually talked to him about getting at least a little less work to do." He turned on the engine and started driving. "I mean, i'm only 19 and i'm really busy all the time! At least cut me some slack. And I know slack sounds like what a 14 year old would say, but this is what I needed to say; and what needed to be done."

I replied,"Trust me Eli. Now that you know how I feel, you don't need to risk your job for me. It's really sweet though."

"Look Clare, I care about you too much to leave you alone like this. It's not right."

I said,"Eli why won't you trust me on this? You need AND love this job. You can't risk to give that all away!"

"Clare! Just let me handle this one." He said and started driving.

It was all quiet. I honestly had no idea where we were going but I guess that's the whole point right?

In about an hour or an hour and a half, we reach this big fancy restaurant. The waitors and waitresses were really nice, and apparently since we had a reservation, we got seated right when we walked inside.
