I opened my eyes, sitting up carefully. I looked around, blinking confused. Golden flowers. Just like the ones in... No. No nononono. I couldn't have reset. I couldn't have broken my promise. I jumped up, stumbling a little as a wave of dizziness crashed over me. I pushed it away, running down the dark corridor to where Flowey always met me. I stopped abruptly, staring at what I found instead. It wasn't Flowey, but instead... Temmie? What is Temmie doing here?
"hOi! i'M tEmMiE! tEmMiE dA TeM!"
"W h a t."
I stared at Temmie, gaping slightly. Something wasn't right. This was the Underground, but it wasn't MY Underground.
"yOu'Re NeW tO dA UnDeRgRoUnD, aReN't ChA?"
"I'm gonna stop you right there. No, I'm not new to the underground. But you shouldn't be here. Where's Flowey?"
"Flowey? You mean those stupid things in Floweyville?" Temmie's voice went from the childlike, playful voice to a slightly more demonic version.
"Floweyville?"
"Uh- yA! iT's A pArT oF dA uNdErGrOuNd!" I raised an eyebrow.
"I figured that much out. Please stop with that voice you're not fooling anyone." Temmie scowled, glaring at me.
"Alright I'm done playing games." Temmie activated a fight, surrounding my soul with something that looked similar to Flowey's pellets but... rainbow.
"DiE"
A fireball knocked Temmie away and the not-pellet things disappeared. I half expected Toriel to walk into view, but it wasn't. It was Asgore.
"Ah, such a terrible creature, torturing a poor, innocent youth." My mouth dropped open. Why in the Underground was Asgore in the Ruins? "Ah, do not be afraid, young one. I am ASGORE, caretaker of the RUINS. What is your name?"
"(Y/n)..."
Asgore held his hand out to me. Hesitantly, I took it. He lead me into the familiar room of the Ruins, and I looked around. It looked like the Ruins stayed the same. I continued to follow Asgore, going through the familiar puzzles. He seemed pleased when I completed them.
"Excellent job, my child!"
I smiled a bit, fiddling with the end of my (f/c) sweater. He guided me to the next room, and I decided to speak up. "Hey Asgore? Who is in charge of the Underground?" If Asgore was here, I was gonna assume Toriel was queen, but I wanted to confirm it.
Asgore's expression darkens "Do not worry about it, child. It is not important here in the RUINS." I sighed, nodding. There was no getting an answer out of him.
As I expected, Asgore left to do some errands and I went through the puzzles that didn't change from my Ruins. When I reached Asgore's home, though, there was a child there. They wore a green sweater with a yellow stripe, and their back was to me. I tilted my head, staring at them. Why did that sweater seem familiar? I took a step, the sound of my shoes hitting the ground alerting the child. They turned around, startled, and both of us froze. Their eyes were wide, their irises a deep red color. The description fell into place. This must be Chara, the first human to fall into the underground. I think this is finally starting to make sense.
