I am waiting all alone in the corner of the dark street
Waiting for a light, a glimpse of hope
Dark has surrounded me for long enough
Won’t something come and show me an opening
I waited, I breathed and there it was
The hope I saw and the light I needed
It came in a small form, so subtle yet there
A boy it was, his smile lit a fire in my heart.
His eyes the deepest of greens like olives
His presence like that of an angel
His touch so soft which makes me feel
Like thousands bolts of electricity has warmed me up
No longer does the world look grey
He’s changed me from cold and dark on the streets
To colourful and cheerful in the light
With hope in my eye
