Brian was lost in thought when a familiar voice spoke up from behind him"Finally, we found you!"Brian screamed and launched himself off the rock with a yell, running to the sidewalk from the woods where he slipped in ice and fell flat on his back.
A few frat boys were walking by at that moment "Hey, mate? You ok?"Brian looked up at them and then to the copse of trees where he could barely see Walfrus peering out from behind some brush. "Uhh. Yeah. Just some snow dropped down the back of my neck."
One of them elbowed the other "I think he's been hitting the drinks a little early. Better get up inside before you pass out in the snow." They walked on laughing and making more comments, not a one offered Brian a hand up.Brian stood and walked back to the trees.
"What are you doing here?" Brian whisper yelled as he looked around for people."Hey, they were a rude bunch!" Walfrus straightened his jacket slightly and his hand touched something in his pocket.A wide grin broke his mustached face.
"Tick-tock, do me a favor and drop this in their path. Don't be seen." "Tick-tock? Who is..gah!" Brian jumped as a metal clockwork dragon flew over to Walfrus and took a small gold ring from his palm."Consider it done!" Tick-tock whispered as he flew off.
"Who, what was that?" Walfrus started to speak but Brian held up a hand "No, nevermind. Wait. That ring? Is that the same one that, oh no." Brian glanced down the path as Walfrus' grin spread to his eyes.
Later that night at a Holiday frat party the police and animal control was called as a cat starting attacking people. Noone knew who the cat belonged to but assumed it may have been Robert's as it was wearing his holiday hat.
