Io's Christmas gift

A gift from Io

It's the night before Christmas, and you have (Finally) 100% beaten Code Vein, hoping that the rumored "Io lives" ending was real. Sadly, it didn't, which hurts you, since she was your all time favorite. You've spent hours with her as your companion, going from one playthrough to another, hoping that the rumors were true that there is one, hidden ending where she lives.

(Y/n): "FINALLY!" *beats the final boss and watches the ending*

You have gotten every ending, and even got them again without partners or other players helping you out, with only one goal in mind: Get an ending where Io lives.

Sadly, the ending you got was the happiest ending (for the third time) which made you realize that the rumored ending isn't real.

(Y/n): *sighs* "sometimes I wish you were able to come to life. Or at the very least, stay alive after the endings."

After getting the ending, you decided that since it was 3 in the morning, you'd get some sleep, and hit the bed.

In the morning, you noticed that your head was on something, and you decided to open your eyes.

Io: "... Morning, Successor."

(Y/n): "... AAAAAHHHHHH!!!" *falls off the bed and backs away* "What the Fuck?!"

Io: "mmm..." *Rubs her eyes* "Successor, it is still to early to be screaming..."

(Y/n): "Wait, successor?... A-anyway, who are you?!... Or are you really..."

Io: *bows her head alittle* "as you already know, my name is Io, and I've come here to offer my thanks for trying to get an ending that keeps me alive."

(Y/n): "Huh?... Oh! It's fine, you're welcome, though I'm sorry that it's not real."

Io: "it is fine, I've given my life to save you and our friends, and I'm fine with that."

(Y/n): "you might be, not I'm not! You were with us the whole way, and now there's no ending where you live? That's not right..."

Io: "... Thank you for your concern, Successor. What's more, you are correct..."

(Y/n): "..."

Io: "... However, the past cannot be changed... So..." *Gets up from the bed* "... What if we make our own ending, then?"

(Y/n): "Huh? What do you mean, Io?"

Io: "as far as I know, I can't go back. And even if I can, I will most likely die like before. But here, I am free to live... And I wish to live... With you..."

(Y/n): "Io..."

Io: "... May I... live here... with you?..."

(Y/n): "... Of course, Io. You're more than welcome to live here, with me."

Then you take her hand into yours as the two of you walk closer together until you hug her close. After hugging, you lean back to see her face, blushing from being hugged by you. As the scene begins to fade to black, you lean forward to kiss her lips, with her jumping from surprised before returning the kiss.
