This was written at midnight when I was listening to love songs by accident on youtube. I was also suffering a thing called having a crush so this was sort of about her but also not- no it was about her I'll stop lying. xD

Sunsets were always beautiful.
Every shade of gold, pink and blue seemed to come together in an intricate dance that filled the sky every evening. Fate seemed to have thought it fitting that we first met at such a sunset during October.
I hadn't heard her open the door to the rooftop. Or her footsteps as she approached me. I was laying with my head resting on my backpack as I watched the sky. With my headphones on, I hadn't expected to have company, so you could imagine my surprise when she appeared above me.
She could have been an angel. The sun's glow almost giving her a halo. At that moment, I could have sworn I'd seen perfection take a human form. Nobody wearing jeans and a hoodie had ever managed to take my breath away quite like that before.
She couldn't be real. Right?
No. I had to be dreaming.
Nobody was that perfect.
She must have noticed my daze, waving her hand in front of my face. Effectively snapping me out of the trance. I'm sure I turned as pink as the clouds that were floating above us because a crooked grin formed on her lips. That only raised the heat in my cheeks. She was beautiful.
"Sup." Barely a word but her voice awoke butterflies in my stomach.
"The sky." Instinct had taken over now, my mind was still reeling about why such an angel would want to talk to me.
The multiple trains of thought were stopped before an inevitable crash by bells ringing. Not the harsh sound of school bells I was so used to. These bells were beautiful. It took me a moment to realise she was laughing.
I made her laugh.
"True."
How could somebody speak so comfortably with somebody she'd never met before?
"What brings you to my roof?" The question took me by surprise.
"The sunset, of course, and your roof?" Her confidence was somehow managing to rub off on me now. Thank goodness.
"Yes, my roof. I claimed it." A grin sat comfortably on her face as she looked at the sky, "The sunsets are great up here aren't they."
I nodded, managing to draw my eyes away from her for the first time since she'd arrived.
A small conversation flowed between us as we witnessed the sun's final waltz of the day before it disappeared for the night. I couldn't have been happier.
Slowly it became normal for us to meet on the roof every evening. We'd talk until the stars were the only lights left in the sky or the cold forced us back inside. It quickly became my favourite time of day.
Sunsets were always beautiful.
