Chapter 9- Feeling Tempted (Joseph's POV)

I stare as they drive away. Fr. Rector cleared his throat.

"So how do you find Ellie Adams?"

"You know her father?" I asked him.

"Yes, I've been close with the Adams eversince Michael and Judy got divorced. It was a very dark time for them."

"Oh, she's fine father, She's a good candidate for a friend."

"Are you sure just a friend?"

                "Ofcourse father."

"I'm just making sure. Always remember your vocation Joseph. Always bear in mind why you're here."

I just smiled, bade him goodbye and went up to our dormitory.

As I lay in my bed, I can't seem to shake her off my head. I just keep on remembering how beautiful and smart and funny she is when she got startled by thunder. And I can sense that she's a very responsible daughter to her mother, a devout Catholic no doubt and an amazing woman.

I can't help but feel giddy at the thought of me and her being friends even outside Facebook. The my mind wondered to the question 'What if we became more than just friends?'

I shake the thought out of my mind. I can't think of my friendship wtih her this way. She is just a friend and that's it. I can't let this tempt me and stray away from my vocation.

And just like that I changed my school uniform to my shirt and board shorts and I go down to dinner.
