Interview with Megantyx13 :D
What inspires you to be a writer?I could write a whole essay on this... But mostly my own personal life, observing people in general, music, and other writers. Of course, and reading, and the way life looks so much easier written in black and white.
How long have you been on Wattpad?
About a year? I joined Wattpad somewhere in April in 2013.
When did you start writing?
At age 12, when I wrote a really crappy story with my best friend, and the character was a bimbo and an airhead.
What book are you currently working on?
I'm currently working on two books, My Will To Live and Misadventures In New York.
Summary of story and link to it
(I don't really link my books, sorry! But you can find them on my profile)My Will To Live: a Taylor Swift fan fiction. The story is about a 13 year old girl named Margie, who is badly abused at home. Taylor Swift is basically the only thing Margie holds on to, so what happens when they cross paths? (FYI: not actual summary haha)
Misadventures In New York: the secret messages of Taylor Swift's new album, 1989, read to form a story don't they? This is the story of Amber Granger, from reckless love to finding herself again.
Genre of the story:
My Will To Live: fan fiction
Misadventures In New York: short story, teen fiction
How many reads does the story have?
My Will To Live: 6.86 K
Misadventures In New York: 21
What a big difference, haha. Still, I'm immensely grateful to my readers for taking time out of their busy schedule to read my books.
What inspired you to write the story?
For the fan fiction, it's literally the result of my restless mind. I'm usually thinking about writing, life, cats and Taylor Swift. One day I just thought "what if I met Taylor Swift? What would I do?" And I kept asking more and more questions and the plot eventually developed.
For Misadventures In New York, it was the secret messages of 1989 that inspired me, as well as the songs themselves. The secret messages of 1989 actually read like a story, and at first, I made up the story in my head. It eventually became something I wanted to write, and there is a very small personal element inside it.
Advice you want to give people on Wattpad:
Write from your heart. And dare to explore your emotions. Writing is an art form, and to make art you first need to feel pain and happiness and everything in between. Don't worry about being overly cliche. Write the truth. And for goodness sakes, don't lose yourself in the process of trying to gain readers. Write what you want. Not what others want. Have the courage to keep writing the things you write about, and the courage to say 'no' when others want you to write what they want. If you follow the crowd, you'll eventually lose yourself and your purpose.
Don't worry too much about gaining followers or reads. If people like what they're reading, they'll read it, and maybe even follow you. Just write.
Do you know me here on Wattpad? My works? My account?
I sort of do... I only have recently come across you, haha. I have your book "Ruptured" saved in my library, it's interesting! Thanks so much for doing this! :)
p.s I am so extremely sorry for the late respond. Been busy with studies! Anyway thank you very much for taking part of this interview with me Megan!
