I remember it so clearly. It started when the massive mech slammed its hand square into the side of the empire state, and everybody screamed and ran as th rubble of the building crashed down onto the surroundings, splitting cars in to and burning things. A foot suddenly slammed down into Central Park, ripping up grass and starting a forest fire, minutes before the fire brigade could arrive, but then they met their fate, burnt alive, then crushed by the foot. The massive body of the thing stooped down for its eye to be level with a towering office. The people inside screamed, then started to flee, when a massive hand came down through the building, crushing everything in sight. Distracted by the carnage, I hardly noticed the small pods crash down on the wrecked pavement of Manhattan. With a Voosh sound, the circular doors slid upward and heavily armoured, man-sized guards emerged from them. They wore silver suits and had a reflecting face mask. Alien-like machine guns were strapped to their back, and held small and guns in their metallic hands. They grasped their guns and slammed it round my mum and dad's heads. They it the ground, and blood trickled down into the gutters. I screamed and launched a massive punch at the robot's arm, but he was prepared. He grabbed my wrist, flipping me in the air like I was a feather and slammed me down hard on to the floor, shattering a few bones in my back, and cracking the floor beneath me. It turned round, dragged my parents into the tiny ship, and set off, leaving me in tears on the floor.
