Happy New Year!! It's been a loooong time since I've written here. I want to try to write again and I'm hoping there are still a few people out there who still read fanfics. This is a late Christmas chapter that I wanted to add, hope y'all enjoy.
New York City shown especially bright, as small flakes of snow fell gracefully over the busy streets as people made their way home. The white and gray snow blanketed over the roofs of many of the buildings. The air was crisp, cooler than the coldest nights in New York during any other time of the year.
The winds began to pick up, making me hug my purple quilt closer as I looked on.
I watched below as a few citizens scurried down the sidewalks, some with packages wrapped in colorful paper and bows. Others held hot dishes covered in foil, the winds carried the mouth watering smell of a wonderful Christmas dinner. The sweet smell of honey baked ham, mashed potato and gravy, biscuits, soups, roasted turkey, and homemade pies.
I felt myself smile as I waited up top of the roof of an apartment building. The snow crunched every time I shifted my feet, it was hard to find shoes that would protect my large foot from the cold weather.
Being the genius that I am, I was able to create makeshift boots for my brothers and I out of warm clothing fabrics and old cork boards for the sole of the shoes. Took longer than I intended, since I am not professional shoe maker, but with the help of the beautiful and talented April O'Neal we were able to finish the first pair within a few weeks.
Speaking of the angel!
Here comes the red head now looking as radiant as ever.
She wore a thick brown coat with white fluffy trim around the hood. Her trademark head band was gone and replaced with a light gray earmuffs.
Her sweet smile helped warm me up from the freezing weather.
"G-good morning Angel, I m-mean April!" Nailed that greeting.
April giggled before running up to me and knocking the air out of my lungs with a hug. I wheezed before sliding my arms around her waist.
"Merry Christmas Donnie! I'm so excited to be spending the day with you guys." she looked up from my arms with her shining icy blue eyes filled with joy. "Plus I brought you all a little something. You know.... just a small thank you for all that you've done for me over the years." her voice died down to a mumble as she shyly looked down.
My heart swooned at how adorable she was. My cheeks were a fair shade of red as she hugged me closer. I was fairly certain April could hear my heart racing from beneath my plastron.
"Thanks April. It wasn't necessary but I know Mikey will love to open them." I gave her my signature grin as I gently rubbed her arm.
I reluctantly let go of the beauty before me, and reached for the sac of gifts I had not noticed earlier. I threw it over my shoulder, careful not to damage the presents. With my free hand I reached out towards April.
"Shall we, m'lady?" my voice for once did not crack nor did I stutter. I felt immensely proud of myself and grew more confident to throw in a wink.
To my surprise April threw a wink my way too.
All my confidence was replaced with slight embarrassment.
"Lead the way donnie boy" she said with a sly smile. My grin was replaced with a cringe worthy crooked smile as we climbed down her fire escape into the alley below.

The lair was just as cold as above when April and I arrived. There were a few heaters I had found and repaired that provided some warmth within the small center of the living room.
