~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Sick!Kakashi x Reader
Kakashi POV
Since when do I get sick?
I think to myself irritably as I lay in bed, glaring at the ceiling in disgust and frustration. As much as I enjoy getting a day off from my little hooligan students, I would've rather faked being sick than actually have this stupid illness. I don't know which one of the little knuckleheads I got it from, but the stomach flu has been going around like it's going out of style.
I can't decide whether I'm hot or cold, my empty stomach has been hurling up anything that was previously put in it, I've barely made it to the bathroom before messing up my pants, my head feels like somebody has been whacking it with a hammer, and the excruciating pain in my stomach is only trumped by the exhaustion I feel from being unable to sleep.
In short...I'm miserable. I know I've survived worse but this is still awful. I can't even read my Icha Icha books to pass the time between passing out.
"You look miserable baby."
I roll my head to the side, the sound of the voice not enough to be sure. The sight of my beautiful girl standing in my bedroom door puts a faint smile on my face.
"(Y/n)..."
She smiles softly and walks forward, stopping beside my bed. A cloth bag in each of her hands, she kneels down to look me in the eye.
"Hey babe, how are you feeling?"
"A little better now that you're here. I thought you had a mission?" I answer in a rough voice, and her expression softens sympathetically.
"I did, I just got back a couple hours ago. I heard you were sick so I decided I'd come take care of you."
"I don't want you getting sick love, just go home...you do not want what I've got."
She laughs softly, raising the bags in her hands so I can see.
"I'll risk it. Besides, I can't let you stay here alone, you'll end up staying sick longer. And, I've come bearing gifts."
"My hero..."
She laughs again, brushing a lock of hair from in front of my eyes before standing up and going to the small table, placing the bags on the wood surface.
"I've brought miso soup, crackers, orange juice, and I also brought you some ginger tea for the nausea."
Thank god I'm dating a medical ninja, maybe now I'll actually start feeling better. I watch her walk back to me, a cup of the tea in her hands, she helps me sit up by propping a pillow behind my back.
"I can't promise that it'll taste good to you, but it will help with settling your stomach."
She warns as she rests the cup in my hands, pulling off my mask as she does. I don't know why, but she was the first person I ever felt comfortable showing my face to...at least, after only a short period of time. She was never as obsessive about removing it like many people I've met, respecting my unexplained reasoning for covering so much of my face without protest or sneaky attempts to remove it like my students. So it felt right to let her see under my mask.
I bring the cup to my mouth and take a sip, swallowing the warm liquid quickly. She was right, it isn't the best for taste, but if it will settle my stomach I'll force it down. Besides, it's also helping soothe my throat, considering how raw it is from hacking up my lunch. I take a large swallow, happy that it's deciding to stay down.
