In a flashback, it's 8:00 p.m and the Brenner family can be seen playing with Lego sets. As per usual, Charlie and Marla role play as a viking-knight duo with their parents playing the role as helpers (the father a pirate and the mother a witch). After defeating the monster, the heroic family cheer in victory. The parents praises their children for a day well done. Charlie asks his parents how they came up with the plan to defeat the monster. The father gives the explanation in brief detail. The mother added in that overall, it's both Charlie's and Marla's hearts that ultimately made the adventure fun. Pondering the thought of adventure, Marla became excited about her a gap year. Her parents (surrounding her) supported and encourage her to follow her dreams. As a memento, her parents surprises her a necklace as a good luck charm to Marla's journey (since she'll be traveling soon). Marla thanked both of her parents and hugged them. Charlie congratulates his sister for the new gift and for finally making her dream come true. He turns to his parents and asks them to play with Marla and him again, but his mother reminded him it's time for her and their father to get going for the party. Charlie became slightly saddened that his parents have to go, but his mother promises them that they'll be back for the next day. Charlie asks them if they'll always get to play together as a family. His parents sat down with him and told him they may not always have playtime for him. However, they gave him advice to never lose his sense of imagination. Marla joined in assuring Charlie that even though she'll be traveling soon, she'll never forget about her family. Upon hearing his parent's inspirational advice, Charlie brightened up.
Before leaving the house (forever), the parents bid their children goodbye for the night. Marla became slightly worried upon hearing the thunderstorm. She asks her father when they'll be coming back. Her father replied that they'll be back around midnight. After the father gives Marla reassurance, Charlie hugged his parents goodbye (with Marla later joining in). After the final goodbye, the parents left the house to attend a party. The car drove off, leaving Charlie wondering what they'll do next with the Lego sets tomorrow. Marla says that they'll be off for a new adventure the next day. She suggested to watch a movie before bedtime. Charlie switches through channels to find a movie while Marla will prepare popcorn. While the popcorn is microwaving, Marla starts to wonder about her future.

After the song is over , it'll shift to present day.

In present day, Marla abandons her dream to look after Charlie. While the sun is about to set with rain clouds clearing up, Marla is heading home after her shift is done. While heading to her car, she noticed a pair of siblings playing with action figures together on a bench. For a few moments, Marla silently watches them since the duo reminded of her relationship with Charlie in the past. After the brief observation, Marla turns on her car to drive home. The death of her parents are implied with Marla staring sadly at the picture of her parents hanging on the rear mirror. As she was driving home, she noted the rain has stopped today, but stopped her parents in the past. She reminisces on how Charlie and she weren't as close as they were before. She wishes she could spend more time with Charlie, but has to work many hours just so he can have food to eat and a place to sleep comfortably at night. She thought of finding a way to make Charlie happy again. Pulling up to a gas station to fill gas, Marla's necklace began to glow a yellow color. Marla became surprised by this phenomenon, especially since it created a laser towards somewhere. The bleak, sullen skies helped the perplexing glow stand out. She followed the golden trail to a toy store. An idea popped into Marla's head. She decided that she can brighten Charlie's day with a new toy.
