My town was surrounded by walls before I even existed. I have wondered why the walls were put there and why have they not fallen yet? None have answered my curious question so far. Instead they stare and me blankly -as if trying to remember something- then simply tell me to go play ball and run along. They also said, the walls had been bulit perfectly and would be steady forever, but I knew they were lying to themselves.
I have seen the wall crumbling into big chucks of concrete myself. It had fallen helplessy towards the ground and almost killed a young colt. This needed to be reported, but none would do it. I sat down on the street and talked to myself about the countless problems going on in our neighborhood. What if there were people out there, asking for out help in the smoldering heat? Why wouldn't we help them? I heard nosies out there every day.
"Oceana! Don't you want to play kickball?" My friend, Lizze, shouted at me. She kicked the ball towards a Japanese- Amercian I recall being named Raiden.
"No thank you, Lizze." I replied, sighing as Raiden picked up the ball and placed it on his hip-bone.
"Why not?"He asked, bluntly.
"The walls are crumbling and I'm figuring out a plan how to save them from doing so." I commented dryly.
They gaped at me like it was the first thing I've said that was strange. I stared at them and then noticed they were looking behind me.I gasped. A huge part of the wall had just crushed some citizens, but one was not a person. It was a strange hybird creature, sreeching as it hit it's head.Ever since then my town has been downhill.
