Lay- New Years

It was New Year's eve and you were invited to the EXO house by your friends Chen and Baekhyun for the NYE party! It was a party for everyone and they were throwing a huge NYE bash!

There was a disco ball set up with strobe lights and a DJ for the night. It definitely was going to be the night to remember!

" hey you!! You look absolutely stunning!" Jennie said pulling you into a tight hug. She was with Lisa and Rose. You twirled around in a small effort to show off your sparkly party skirt for the girls cheered you on. " Come dance with us!" Lisa said pulling you and the girls onto the dance floor. "So who are you gonna kiss tonight?"

"I haven't really thought about it." You said , obviously lying to yourself and the girls.

"Oh c'mon Y/N we know you and Lay are more than besties." Rose said elbowing you with. Wink. You blushed at the thought of him. "Yeah, but I don't know if he feels the same way."

"How can be not? You're a freakn babe." Jennie added looking tired at the way you disbelieved Lay's interests for you.

"Yeah! Besties my ass." Lisa said making all the girls laugh.

"Oucccha... Whose that?" You hear someone dramatically say from behind you. You and the girls turn around to see none over than your bestie, Lay

"You look amazing tonight Y/N." lay said, making Jennie mugs you forward, " hop on it!" She said making the girls giddy at the scene before them.

"Drink for my lady." He said handing you a cup of cider. "Don't mind if I do." You take the cup from his hands taking a sip. Lay grabbed your hand gently twirling you around just like the girls did earlier, small whistle escaping from his lips as he gave you the nod of approve." Oh my god, you did not just.." you say shocked at his reaction to you all dressed up. It wasn't too often that you glammed you.

"Oh I did.." he said grabbing your hands and pulling you back to the dance floor with him. " it's not nice to steal..." Rose said towards Lay. He waved them off as you two made hour way towards the balcony. You turned your head to the girls sending them a cheesy smile, and thumbs up, as they made a kissy face at you.

Oh my God. I really hope they didn't see that. You thought as he turned away from the girls and walked outside balcony. Secretly you really wanted to kiss him, but you couldn't like the stuff to take over your mind because it will and if the case doesn't happen,
you will be sad.

"The parties inside, what are we doing out here?" You said jokingly as he set his cup to his side. " just thought we'd get some fresh air first." He said resting against the balcony.

"Alright." You said facing your focus forward. " can I ask you something's?" He said turning his focus to you. Your eyes met as he smiled at you.

"Are you scared at all?"

"Scared of what?" You asked.

" The new year. I mean, it's like any other new year that comes and goes. What will happen this year, good and bad, both in our personal lives and in the world itself."

"Ya know yeah, i'm not gonna lie. I am kind of scared but it's OK to be scared. It's just means you're about to do something really, really brave and sometimes when you're most afraid of doing is the very things that will set you free."Lay looked from the ground up to you then back to the ground as a small crept onto his face.

" That's  some good words of wisdom right there." Lay said this time looking up at you, not ready to break eye contact that you both held.

"HEY Guys!! 2 MINUTES!!" Baekhyun yelled from the house. He motioned for you guys to come back into the house for the countdown. They hung his head for a second before picking it back up and leading it to you back to the house. Once you guys are back in the house, you were dragged to the side by one of the girls it was Jennie.

"SO?"

"Nothing."

"Well you have one minute to go find him and make it happen. You've got this girl!" She hyped you up before running off to find Lisa and Rose. You left Jennie and made your way back to Lay, which was not going to be easy. Everyone was crowded around each other counting down from 10!

Dammit where is he? You thought. The voices around you counting down from five, four, three, two, one... you were about to give up on it, when someone's world around and planting their lips onto yours! Everyone screamed Happy New Year's! The screen was blurred out by the music and mystery man that was kissing you. You dropped a kiss for second leaning your forehead against the other persons forehead, with your are still closed, the mystery man responded to your sudden actions-

"It's OK to be scared. It just means you're doing something really, really great right now." You knew exactly who it was! With your eyes still close you smile widely, and then opening your eyes so to see your bestie, Lay standing in front of you. "Hey beautiful.." he said moving the hair in front of your face to behind your ear. "Hey.." you said biting your lip. He looked in his eyes to his lips, as he caught onto the same idea you were thinking of, the two of you  connected lips  again. It felt so right to kiss him! You were living your own wisdom of being too scared to do one thing that will set you free, and this was that one thing.

" AWWWW YEAH...."  Rose cheered the two of you on, making you immediately break away from the kiss and hide into Lay's chest. He hugged you protectively as everyone hooted and cheered you two in. "It's about damn time." Chanyeol said as he patted Lay on the back before walking off. "Tell then to go away." You mumble against his chest. He chuckled at your reaction to everyone's reaction to the two of you.

"I like you Y/N." "I'd never guess." You replied back, "Wow, no I like you too Lay. You are so handsome Lay." " Okay don't flatter yourself too much, I think you already know the answer to that." You said pulling himself with you to the dance floor. "I think you do." You both laughed and danced the rest of the evening away. You had gotten what you've wanted for the longest time, no not a Mew Years kiss, that was just an added BONUS! You got confirmation that your Best friend liked you back just as much as you liked him! That was enough to make your heart flutter and for you to get excited for what the new yoga's to offer!❤️🎇🎆
