Just Dive In

      Bump, bump, bump. We were on our way to Two Step Beach in Kona, Hawaii. I could feel the rush inside of me. I was super excited to step on the beach and dive in!  We finally arrived, and I practically fell out of the car I was so excited. We came to this particular beach to snorkel, and since it was my first time, I was freaking out! :) Running around, I realized that this beach didn't have any sand, but that didn't matter. Turning around, I realized that my family was right behind me, and was as ready as I was. Eventually, we found a spot, and my dad hopped right in. Me, being a little scared at first, decided to explore the tide pools. Finally, with my dads help, I slowly got into the water. Whoa, this is AMAZING, I thought to myself. Kicking around, we did a loop. Looking into the water, I spotted striped fish, polka dot  fish, crabs, coral, and sea anenomes. I got out of the water, and realized that I got a cut on my leg. Soon, we found a new spot...

       This spot had a perfect step in the water, so it was a lot easier to get in. (Hint the name 2 Step Beach.) I started to walk around some, and found a tide pool that went from small to big! Curious, I peeked into the water and saw baby hermit crabs and fish. Slowly, I started to head to the part where the tide pool got larger. People were crowded around this one particular spot, and I had to know what they were looking at. "Oh my gosh! A baby sea turtle!" I practically screamed. My step mom came over, and started to snap pictures. (She loves photography.) "Madison, get next to it." she said. Crouching down, I was right next to the little guy, and after she took the picture, the turtle lifted its head out of the water, and blew bubbles at me! I insisted on taking him/her home, but obviously the answer was a no. As we were getting ready to leave, a family from Japan started to talk to ours, and my little sister Maisy made 2 new friends. She even got in their family photo! Soon, we said our goodbyes and left the beach. 

        That's the story about my family and I going snorkeling at Two Step Beach. We went on crazy under water adventures, and even made new friends. I can't wait till I go back to Hawaii!
