Ch 2

Waking up with a start I looked around in confusion when I saw I was in a room laying on a mattress. I also noticed my blue long sleeve shirt laying off to the side. Sitting up I yelled out in pain and looked down to see my entire left side bandaged up. Hearing the door open my head shot up and I blinked when I saw a man with long dark hair and hazel eyes who was wearing a black and yellow jacket enter. He gave me a little smile. "How are ya feeling?" He gave me a look of concern. "I heard you yell out in pain." I lowered my head and mumbled. "I'm fine just confused and got up to fast." Looking up at him I frowned. "What happened? Where am I? Where's my sister?" He nodded then gave me a reassuring expression. "Well first off my name's fun ghoul and we saved you from a group of Drac's that you were trying to stupidly take down yourself. Your sister was running through the desert screaming for help and she lead us back to you. You got shot so we brought you back to the diner we hide out at and I patched you up. And right now your sister is outside practice shooting with my friend Jet." I gave a slow nod then said softly. "Thanks for patching me up then." I slowly tried to get up but made an annoyed sound when ghoul gently pushed me back down. "Hey now you need to take it easy." I gave him a look running a hand through my dark brown hair in frustration. "I'm fine. Just let me up I need to see my sister." He pushed me back down onto the mattress again. "I'll go get her now stay here and don't move." Grumbling I relaxed against the mattress and watched him leave. Once he came back I looked relieved to see my little sister completely okay not a scratch on her. She ran to me and hugged me tight causing me to cry out in pain. Immediately she let go looking apologetic and concerned. "I'm sorry! Are you okay racer? I got so scared when I saw you get shot I thought I was going to lose you!" Smiling softly I ruffled her hair. "It's okay Crystal I'm alright." She wiped her eyes then smiled at me. "Ghoul and the others said we can stay here for awhile isn't that great? We can actually stop and rest for once." I looked at ghoul with a raised eyebrow before saying stubbornly. "Just until my side heals then we're leaving." He gave a little nod of understanding then I looked down at the mattress curiously. "Who's room is this anyways?" Ghoul just looked at me saying like it's no big deal. "Mine and jet's. We moved you to my bed so you'd be more comfortable." I frowned and immediately insisted trying to get up. "I'll sleep somewhere else I'm not taking your bed." Ghoul gently shoved me back down with pretty decent strength. "Relax it's fine. Jet and I are just gonna sleep out in the booths for awhile until you and Crystal rest." I frowned and so did Crystal but ghoul refused to listen to our arguments. Suddenly there was a knock at the door and I tilted my head curiously. Ghoul opened the door and three very different people stood outside it. I saw ghoul step aside to let the others into the small room and I eyed them. The man at the very front had bright red hair and hazel eyes. The man beside him had blonde hair and also had hazel eyes with a really sharp jawline. And the man in the back had long curly hair and he too had hazel eyes. I saw my sister smile at the men and I immediately got on edge. "This is Party Poison our leader, his brother Kobra Kid and the guy in the back is Jet Star." I looked at each individual as they were introduced and stayed quiet for a moment before saying hesitantly and reluctantly. "I'm Silent Racer. Uh thanks for letting us stay here for awhile." Party just smiles at us. "No problem dude. Just focus on healing." I nodded then noticed out of the corner of my eye that my sister was smiling at Jet. I frowned but didn't say anything and next thing I know I hear my stomach growling and flushed a little in embarrassment. Ghoul's head snapped to me and then looked at his friends shooing them out. "I'm gonna go get them some food go do something." The guys left and I looked at my sister with a raised eyebrow. "You seem awfully close to that Jet guy." She blushed but shrugged. "He's just nice is all." I looked amused but let it go. "Sure. Whatever you say." Looking up when ghoul came back carrying two cans I took the one offered to me with a spoon and started eating. I ate quickly almost choking and stopped when Ghoul started to scold me. "Calm down dude there's plenty. I get your skin and bones but you don't need to die by inhaling your food." I grumbled but went back to eating slower. Once Crystal and I were done I rubbed my eyes. "Here this should keep you guys warm." I took the blanket ghoul offered  and watched my sister get settled on the other mattress. I mumbled a soft thanks to Ghoul before slowly drifting off to sleep.
