I made my way to the Hokage building in a huff. I had returned a few hours ago from a mission and was looking forward to some time off. Kakashi normally didn't request my presence unless absolutely necessary.
I pushed the office doors open and walked in tiredly. The week long mission seemed to cling to me, sweat and dirt making me feel nasty. I could smell myself easily, making me even more embarrassed at the state I was in.
"Shika? Kakashi summoned me. Where is he?" I inquired as I walked in.
Shikamaru sat at the hokage's desk, a sight I've seen rarely. "He's giving a meeting." He replied lazily.
I arched a brow curiously at his answer, "Did you ask for me?"
"Yes." He answered quickly.
I sighed. "I'll return later to answer Kakashi's questions about my mission. I'm tired." I told him curtly. I turned to leave, but suddenly felt myself freeze.
"I summoned you." He called to me.
Feeling myself unable to move, I simply stood still. "Why?" I asked. I faced the door, avoiding him for many reasons.
Shikamaru and I had an odd relationship. When the sake became heavy, we became naked. I can't really explain it any differently. No matter his relationship with Ino, or even Temari, it was my bed he ended up in, if he was drinking. For me, I always wanted Shika to be the man I woke up next to. Sober, or drunk.
"You were injured." It was a statement, not a question.
"Yes. Sakura healed me. It wasn't anything major."
"If Kakashi put you on leave, it's something major."
I finally turned to face him, but still found myself stiff. He had me in his shadow possession. "Shikamaru, I'm fine." I answered as i moved, involuntary, closer to Shika.
I found myself at the desk, Shikamaru leaning against it casually now. "You really are troublesome." He replied.
"Says the man that summoned me." I snapped.
"I was curious why you only turned in your mission report at the gate. I asked Kakashi and he told me you were at the hospital. I couldn't leave to check on you, so I asked for you."
"What does it matter?" I didn't know where this was going.
His lazy demeanor always drove me insane, in a good way. Or a bad way, I suppose. I wanted to jump him no matter where we were. This time was no different. My current state, immobile and dirty, kept from attempting. Well, and sober.
"Go clean up and get some rest." He released me and walked back around the desk to continue working.
"That's it?"
He glanced up at me and shrugged lazily, "You said you're fine."
I snorted and left. I picked up ramen on my way home, not feeling like cooking anything. The entire way home I couldn't stop thinking about Shikamaru. What was his problem?
After arriving home, I ate quickly and made my way to the shower. Letting the hot water relax my tired muscles and ease my wandering mind. I winced where my wound was on my abdomen when I pressed too hard on it.
After bandaging my cut, I braided my wet, h/l h/c. I then tossed on some cheeky panties and a tank top, and crawled into bed.
I woke up to a knock at my door. "Y/n." I groaned at the noise but still made my way to the door.
Glancing at the clock, it was just after 8pm. Knowing who it was, I pulled the door open in a huff and leaned against the door, arms crossed. "Didn't get enough of me earlier?" I joked.
