They knew that voice anywhere. It was Chan. As much as they both wanted to hide, it was too late; Chan had already seen Minho in Jisung's arms staring up at the younger, as had the boy he was walking with.
"Y'all cute or whatever," teased Felix.
"Cute?" Minho snorted. "Please, he's not cute." He pried himself out of Jisung's grip. "I mean, look at this twink. Cute? He's far from it. He's not funny, he's not good looking, he's annoying, and I'm sure he's never had a boyfriend. There's a reason for that, by the way, and it's standing right in front of you."
"I think you've got it a bit twisted, Minnie," Jisung stuttered out, "Look at yourself, Minho. You're not cute, you're..." Hot, thought Jisung. Shut up, he told himself. "A wannabe. Look at this fake persona you've got. You can say whatever you want about how I look, but I know you're ugly on the inside."
The words stung both of them. Twink. Wannabe. Fake. Annoying. But they had to maintain the image of hating each other.
In some senses, they still did. They both found each other incredibly annoying, they both got on each other's nerves constantly, and they both were terrible at expressing their emotions so it always presented as anger. And they both liked to piss each other off. Jisung especially. This was made abundantly clear in this moment. Jisung had an opportunity to be an asshole, so he seized it with no hesitation.
"Really, Felix," he sneered, "I thought you were smarter than that. I don't know what exactly you assumed, but—"
"We assumed you two finally realised you don't really hate each other," Chan interrupted.
Jisung rolled his eyes. "I guess I overestimated both of you in terms of intelligence. Me and Minho? Never gonna happen. I hate him, and he hates me. That's how it's always been. That's how it always will be. He's the most annoying, stuck up, self-centred motherfucker I've ever met."
"I hate you too, but that still kinda hurt. Jesus Christ, Jisung, can you chill?" Minho was shaking with anger but tried to keep it contained. Minutes before, they were laughing together, and now Jisung was tearing into him with harsh words and petty insults. "And you're no better," he added.
Chan and Felix exchanged a knowing look. "Well," Chan announced, "I think that's our cue to exit. I hope you two figure out... whatever this is soon."
As soon as the pair turned away, Minho grabbed Jisung's wrist.
"What the fuck, Minho?"
Minho ignored the question, only marched forward, dragging Jisung behind him. "You're gonna pay for that, baby boy."
Jisung repeated, "What the fuck?!"
"If you act up, you get punished. You know the rules, princess."
