“Haha, yes!” you screamed as you sat on your feet.

“Fuuuuu-!” Dan yelled next to you, his words cut off as he slammed his controller into the couch.

Dan was your old friend from uni. He always came across as rather charming but socially impaired. You were disappointed when he quit and you lost contact with him. That was until you ran into him on the underground a few months ago.

[Flashback]

“Dan!”

“(Y/n)!”

“I can’t believe it. My pal Daniel. It has been too long.” You said, hugging your old friend tightly.

“How long has it been?”

“I don’t even know. You’re a Youtuber now, right? I think I’ve seen some pictures of you floating around Tumblr.”

“Oh god.” he said and the two of you bursted out laughing. The people around you stared as you two giggled loudly.

The two of you spent the ride talking. You both went on and on and on. As you came to your stop you asked for his phone.

“Why?” He said as he handed over his phone.

“I want to put my number in there. We need to hang out soon.”

You enter your number into his phone and waved your farewell.

Laughing, Phil and you leaned into each other in a fit of laughter. You sat back up and leaned into him, pressing your controller to his chest. “22-0. But I’m sure you’ll win next time. Want to trade remotes?” You said.

“NOPE. I quit.” Dan said, getting up off his seat. However, you clung to his shirt before he could make another step. You pulled him back down to his seat. You always turned into a child the moment you found yourself with him.

“No way. I hate it when you quit. Plus, I’ve been playing this game since high school. This is your first time playing it!” you told him. The two of you had been playing a strange uncommon fighting game that came out in your freshman year. It was a pretty bad game but really, that is what made you love it. When others asked you why you liked such a shitty game you responding the same way every time “That’s half the fun of it.”

“Finefine” Dan said “but only one more round. I really need to make a video. I haven’t uploaded in three weeks and it is nagging at me.”

You let go of him and threw your hands up in the air  above your head. “I always win. Whether it is video games or convincing you to play with me, I am queen.” You said with a smug smile on your face.

[Three minutes later…]

“FUUUUUUCK.” Dan said as he jumped up from his seat. “I almost had you!”

You got up and patted the tall young man on the shoulder. “It’s okay. You are lucky to get that close to beating the master. Anyway, I’ll leave you to making that video.” You said.

“Actually, I was thinking you could be in my video. Phil too.” Dan said.

“Oh okay. What is your video?” You asked, nervously. You had never been in a video with such a large audience.

“A baking video.” Dan said “I feel it’s about time we do another one and I want one for my channel.”

“Delia Smith time?” Phil asked.

“Delia Smith time.” Dan confirmed.

“What are we going to bake?” You asked, now becoming excited for the treat your best friends and yourself would make.

“Cookies, of course.” Dan said.

[Flashback]

“(y/n) Katniss (l/n)” Dan said as he approached you.

“Not quite but I am glad you have compared me to Jennifer Lawrence, Daniel Gale Howell.” You said. The two of you had just went to a cafe after going the the theater to see the Hunger Games and Catching Fire back to back.

“Not Peeta?” Dan questioned.

“Daniel, we all know you are better than a bread boy.” You laughed.

Dan laughed back. “Anyway, (y/n), can I get you something to eat or drink?”

“No thanks.” You said, sitting down at a table as Dan went to order at the counter. You tapped your foot on the small tiles of the cafe ground in nervous movement.

“Madam.” He said as he set your favorite drink down on the table along with your favorite sweet. “I got you something anyway, I hope you don’t mind.”

“How did you know these were my favorites?” You asked.

“You order it everywhere we go. I figured by now.” he said. “And as for the (favorite sweet), who doesn’t like (favorite sweet)?”

“A lunatic!” You joked.

[End flashback]

After that one day in the cafe, the two of you always got each other desserts. After a while you always just ended up giving each other a cookie when you could.

“Now for the recipe. Internet?” You suggested.

“Internet.” Dan said as Phil grabbed his laptop.

Phil searched “Delia Smith Cookies” and the three of you huddled around the screen, looking at the different recipes.

“This one. Let's get the ingredients.” Dan said and poked at the screen.
