Ch. 11 Here We Go Again

Mia's POV

Demi hugged me tight and wouldn't let go.

"Babe", I sighed. She burrowed her head into my chest and held me tighter. I wrapped my arms around her and rest my chin against her head.

"I dont want you to go", she whined. "I know baby, but I have to. It won't be so bad. I'll still see you and talk to you everyday."

She raised her head up, looked at me, and pouted. "Dont do that", I groaned. "You're gonna make me cry." She still just looked at me with watery eyes. "I have to finish college Dems. Please dont make this harder than it has to be. It's not like im going way across the country or anything."

"I know, but i'll miss you", she said. "I'll miss you too babe." I leaned down and kissed her passionately.

Being with her all summer was more than anything I could've asked for. Feeling her warm body cuddled into mine and hearing her slow, peaceful breaths as she slept was the best salvation anyone could hope to acquire. This woman meant everything to me.

All too soon, our kiss ended and we had to faced the inevitable. A bit overdramatic considering I was only 6 hours away, which sounds like a lot but is way less than New York.

Demi still wouldnt let go of me and I awkwardly walked with her attached to me, managing not to drop any of my bags. I put them into my trunk, all the while her arms were still wrapped around my waist. When I was finished Demi moved her hands to my neck and we kissed again. I slid my hands into her back pants pocket and lightly squeezed her butt. Her tongue slid into my mouth and then we were french kissing.

We stopped because of lack of air (goddamn air, always ruining shit) , and she pressed her forehead to mine. "I love you", I said, "More than anything." " I love you too baby."

We shared a brief but sweet kiss and then i got into my car. "Call me when you get back", she said as I started it up. I nodded and blew her a kiss, then drove off. Her majestic house and our majestic summer together fading away in the background.

As soon as I got home, I dropped my bags by the door and collapsed onto the couch.

The fatigue from the drive was weighing down on me and I was just about to crash on the couch when my phone rang.

I sat up and lazily reached for my phone inside my purse. I picked it up without looking at the caller ID.

"Hello?", I said and rubbed my eyes.
"Oh my god!", a voice boomed into the phone and I jumped. "Tell me everythinggg. How'd it go? What did you guys do?? You didnt call me all summer!"

I rolled my eyes once I realized it was Lilly. She used to be my dorm roommate and was my closest friend here. I told her that I was going to LA to be with a very special friend. I didnt tell her it was Demi, of course, but God it was hard to keep a secret like that from your best friend.

"I just got home Lilly, sheesh", I said and kicked off my shoes.

"So? I repeat, you didn't call me all summer! Too busy with your girrrllfriieennddd", she snickered.

I bit my lip and waited for the wave of realization to hit her.

"Oh my god. You didn't deny her being your girlfriend like you usually do. TELL ME EVERYTHING!!", she shouted excitedly into the phone.

"Calm down", I laughed. I told her play-by-play everything that happened between Demi and I, including the hilarious scene at Hurricane Harbor which made her laugh until she couldnt breathe.
