The sound of fire surrounds me, what is this? The ground.. It's so hot. Pushing myself up, I rub my eyes. Why are my hands so dirty? It feels like a weird dust.. As soon as I open my eyes I see trees in every direction. What? What is happening?! Everything isn't making any sense at all! I was just in my house a moment before. I look up at the sky, a thick black smoke fills the sky and starts to fill my lungs. Ashes land around me and spot fires start raging, taking down every gum tree it can reach. The intense heat surrounding me is making it hard to see.
A gum tree to my left collapses next to me and I jump out of panic. What can I even do? What can I do in this situation?? The fire has me trapped in a flaming circle of death.. Can I even do anything in this situation anyway? Or do I just sit down and let the flames swallow me in a whole world of pain..?
I get the courage and decide my only hope is to charge through the flames as fast as I can and hope I can make it past them before I burn entirely into a crispy corpse for people to find.
