Vivian and the kids see Jordan off for his tour. It's a sad goodbye for the kids. Vivian and Jordan hold it together for the kids sake. Telling them it'll all be okay and that they'll see Daddy real soon. Layla is especially upset, she's such a Daddy's girl. And Layla being sad makes Lex even more sad. It breaks Jordan's heart to know he's the reason his kids are so upset. "Lex, Layla it's going to be okay. I'll see you real soon I promise. Please don't cry. You'll make Daddy cry and then Mommy will cry. It'll be a big mess."
Layla throws her little arms around his neck, "Daddy please take me with you, I'll be good, I promise" she cries. Jordan looks up at Vivian and tears fill his eyes. "Sweetheart you have to go to school. You can't be on the road with me and go to school. I'll see you soon baby girl." He kisses the top of her head and gives her a squeeze. Then he releases her. He hugs and kisses Lex. "Son you keep an eye on your sister and Mommy okay? I'll miss you and I love you. Now you two go check out the bus while I talk to Mommy."
"Vivian I can't do this. I can't leave the kids. It's not like before, it was just me back then. Now there's you and Lex and Layla. Baby its breaking my fucking heart to leave. I don't know why I thought I could leave you all like this."
"J, baby, if you don't want to do this then that is up to you. But you've made commitments, tickets are sold. A lot of tickets have been sold. Your fans are excited about your come back. We will make this work. I promise. I'll take the time to bring the kids out whenever you need them. You can do this."
"I'm going to hold you to that. Don't be surprised if I call you in a week to have you and the kids come out. I'm going to call them every night before bed okay?"
"Okay my love. Try and have fun. Remember how it use to feel. We'll be here, we aren't going anywhere. And do not ever forget how much I love you." They kiss and head to the bus so Vivian can get the kids and Jordan can get on the road.
Jordan tells Vivian to leave first, he isn't sure he can leave with them watching. So she gets the kids into the car, then she runs back to Jordan for one more hug and one more amazingly knee weakening kiss.
When she finally drives away she heads to her sister's house. Vivian had made plans for the kids to have a fun day with Donnie, Izzy and Hayden. He was going to take them out to the beach and whatever else they wanted to do.
This gives Vivian the chance to meet up with the film crew to work on a couple of things that they had questions about. Today they were filming at the arcade, the photobooth scene was first. Vivian brought in her photos from that day so the actors could reenact them exactly.
After watching the shoot done several times, Vivian begins to feel the sadness of her day. She goes and sits in the photobooth once they finished the scene. Sitting there all alone, she stares at the photos of herself and Jordan from twenty years ago and finally allows herself to cry.
It feels like she's been sitting there forever when Orlando finally finds her. He opens the curtain and sits down beside her. "You okay Vivi?"
"Yeah Lando, I'm good. Just feeling the day hitting me. I didn't think I'd feel this sad and lost on the very first day he's gone."
He put an arm around her shoulders and pulls her into his side. She leans her head onto his shoulder. He takes the photos from her and looks at them. "God Vivi, you were so young here. And you say you knew then he was the one?"
"Yes. I knew that first week we met. I knew he was who I was going to spend the rest of my live with."
"But you left him. For nine years. And you married someone else. Why'd you do that if you knew he was the one."
"I had my reasons. Mostly I did it for him. He just didn't know he needed me to."
Orlando looks at her, confused. "What do you mean?"
Vivian sighs deeply, "I found out I was pregnant right when he got his first record deal. He was having to go to California to sign his contract and he was going to be gone a month or so. I knew he wouldn't leave me if he knew so...I made sure he wouldn't find out. And that meant leaving."
"And the baby?"
"Umm, yeah, I made a decision and took care of it. That's all I'll say about it."
He looks down at her. His eyes are full of sadness now. "Vivi I'm really sorry to hear that. That must have been the hardest decision to have to make." He hugs her tighter. "Hey let's go grab something to eat. See if we can cheer you up a little."
They walk just a little way down the boardwalk and Orlando stops. "I want a chili dog and fries...what do you want?"
"I'll have the same as you." Vivian laughs, "You're such a big spender."
"Vivi, its not like this is a date, I go all out on dates. Too bad you're married or I could show you. But you'll just have to settle for the friend outing. Its the mucher more fun version of me."
"Good to know Lando. I'm glad I'm getting to see the better version of you. Seems like a good version so far. I feel like I've made a friend. Thank you for cheering me up."
"You're welcome Vivi. Now you better get home."
Vivian picks up the kids and gets home just in time for Jordan's call. "Hey babe, how was your first show?"
"Oh Viv, you were right. It was amazing. It was almost like I never stepped away. Thank you for making me do this. I owe you one for sure. Oh babe I wish you'd been here tonight. Anyway how was your day? How was filming? What scene did they do today?"
"Oh J, I'm so happy it went well and you had such a great time. I wish I could have been there too. Filming was good, they did the photobooth today. After they finished, I sat in the booth and cried. I had our pictures with me and I just sat and cried until Orlando made me go get something to eat with him. The kids had a great time at the beach with Donnie and their cousins. Then we had ice cream. Now they are getting ready for bed. But they've been looking forward to your phone call all day."
"Me too, get em on the phone."
