Jungkook POV

"Blind?"

I couldn’t believe the news. My heart sank as Hoseok's words echoed in my mind. The thought of Jimin being blind was overwhelming. The hospital encounter had left me restless, and I couldn't shake the image of him from my thoughts.

"That's all I can do for you," Hoseok said with a hint of finality.

Desperate to understand more and to see if there was anything I could do, I pleaded, “Hyung, please, help me just this once.”

I needed to know more about Jimin's condition and how I could be there for him, despite everything that had happened between us.

"I'm sorry, Jungkook. I can't do that. This is hospital policy. I can't reveal patient information," Hoseok said firmly.

Frustration welled up inside me. I knew how important it was for me to find Jimin, to be there for him. Despite our past and everything that happened between us, I couldn’t shake the feeling that he needed me now more than ever.

I took a deep breath and tried a different approach. “Hyung, please. I know this might be against the rules, but Jimin is someone I care about deeply. I just need to know where he is. I won’t let this go until I know he’s okay.”

My voice cracked with emotion, but Hoseok remained steadfast. It was clear I would need to find another way to reach Jimin, but my determination was unwavering.

Meanwhile....

Tae’s expression went from shock to deep concern as he processed Jimin’s words. He pulled back slightly, his eyes wide with disbelief.

“Blind? What do you mean?” Tae’s voice trembled, a mix of confusion and worry evident in his tone.

Namjoon gently squeezed Jimin’s shoulder. “Jimin has been going through a lot lately. He’s had some serious health issues. We’re here to visit you and catch up.”

Tae looked between Jimin and Namjoon, trying to steady himself. He took a deep breath and put a comforting hand on Jimin’s arm. “I’m so sorry, Jimin. I had no idea. I’m just... really glad to see you. Let’s get you settled, okay? We’ll talk about everything.”

Jimin managed a small smile, grateful for Tae’s understanding. “Thanks, Tae. I really missed you.”

Tae’s worry was still evident, but his warmth and support made Jimin feel a bit more at ease.

The room was heavy with silence, punctuated only by the sound of Jimin's voice. He spoke softly, trying to maintain his composure despite the enormity of his situation.

"I'm involved in an accident and now, I can't see..." Jimin's voice trembled, though he fought to keep it steady. His words were laced with acceptance, but the weight of his new reality was palpable.

Tae's eyes filled with tears, unbidden, as he listened. His heart ached at the thought of Jimin's struggle. The world seemed unbearably harsh at that moment, especially for someone as kind-hearted as Jimin. Tae's tears fell silently, his face reflecting a deep sadness.

"Jimin..." Tae's voice was choked with emotion. He felt a surge of helplessness and anger at the cruel twists of fate that had befallen his friend.

Jimin, sensing the shift in Tae's emotions, spoke gently. "Tae, please don't cry."

Tae was taken aback, wiping his eyes in surprise. "How... how do you know I'm crying?"

Jimin's lips curled into a faint, bittersweet smile. "I told you I'm blind but not deaf. I can hear you sobbing."

Tae's heart ached even more at Jimin's calm acceptance. Despite his own sorrow, he admired Jimin's strength and resilience. In that moment, he realized that while the world might be cruel, there was an undeniable strength in Jimin's spirit that shone through, even in the darkest of times.

"Jiminie.....I'm sorry."

Jimin sat in the quiet room, his senses heightened by the absence of sight. The sound of Tae’s sobs reached him clearly, and he could sense the weight of his friend's distress.

"Tae, stop crying," Jimin said softly, reaching out with a hand. "You're my best friend. What happened to me wasn’t your fault. I didn’t tell anyone. No one knows."

Tae's shoulders shook with each breath he took, his tears falling freely. "I should have been with you. I should have supported you through this. I’m such a bad friend."

Jimin shook his head, a gentle smile touching his lips despite the heaviness of his situation. "No, Tae. You're not a bad friend. Life just happened, and I’m still here, managing the best I can. I didn’t want anyone’s sympathy or attention. I just needed time to accept it and move on."

Tae wiped his tears, trying to steady his voice. "But I feel like I failed you. I should have been there."

Jimin reached out, finding Tae’s hand with his own. "You didn’t fail me. Sometimes, life throws us into difficult situations, and we deal with them in our own ways. Your presence now, your support, means a lot to me."

Tae squeezed Jimin’s hand, his sobs subsiding. "I promise, from now on, I’ll be here for you, no matter what."

Jimin nodded, a sense of calm settling between them. "Thank you, Tae. That’s all I need—just knowing you’re here, supporting me."

In that moment, their bond felt stronger, a testament to their friendship and mutual understanding, even in the face of overwhelming challenges.

The room buzzed with tension as Tae’s frustration bubbled over. “Ohhh, yes!” Tae exclaimed, realizing the depth of Jimin's secrecy. “How dare you make me waste my tears! Park Jimin, why didn’t you tell me?”

Jimin, overwhelmed by Tae’s raised voice, quickly covered his ears. “Omg Kim Taehyung, stop yelling!” he pleaded, clearly not enjoying the loud confrontation.

But Tae was far from done. “Oh no, I won’t stop yelling at you! You dropped out of university without telling me! You’re making me worried! All our friends are worried, especially Jungkook. Do you know how much he tried to contact you? He even coaxed the dean to get your address, searching for you like a lost man!”

Jimin’s heart sank at the mention of Jungkook. “We broke up...” His voice was quiet, almost as if he was still trying to come to terms with it himself.

Tae’s face fell, his anger giving way to a look of profound sadness. “You broke up? But why? You two seemed so close. If you needed space, you could have told us. We’re your friends—we want to support you.”

Jimin sighed, feeling the weight of his decisions. “It was complicated, Tae. Jungkook and I... we had our reasons. I didn’t want to drag anyone into it, didn’t want to worry you all.”

Tae sat down beside Jimin, his anger now replaced with concern. “You might not want to worry us, but hiding it only makes it worse. We care about you, and we’re here for you, no matter what.”

Jimin nodded slowly, grateful for Tae’s support despite the harsh words. “I’m sorry for shutting everyone out. I didn’t mean to cause this much distress.”

Tae put a comforting hand on Jimin’s shoulder. “We’re friends, Jimin. We’ll get through this together. Just promise me you’ll let us in next time, okay?”

Jimin’s voice was filled with sincerity. “I promise, Tae. Thank you for being here.”

In that moment, the tension eased, and the bond of friendship was reaffirmed, despite the trials and secrets that had come between them.
