Hermione's POV
After Neville asked me to look for his toad, I got exhausted. I think I've marched through twelve compartments and there wasn't even a clue from that stupid little toad. Only some people looked at me weirdly. Not that it mattered. 'It did.' My head replied to me.Just inside I knew that staying with Draco would be better. He gave my stomach a jolt. It was like his presence lit my whole body. The warmth he gave me was precisely happiness. Or love my head replied to me. What is happening to me even? I had just met this boy and I was completely falling for him...
I drifted through the compartments. At last I came to the one that was at the end. I thought that there wouldn't be anyone in there so I was relieved. But when I opened the compartment door I saw two boys sitting and eating a chunk of wizard candy.
"Has anyone seen a toad? A boy named Neville's lost one." I say to them.
"No." The red headed boy said back. I was going to head back where Draco was but I saw the red headed boy trying to do magic. "Oh, are you doing magic? Let's see then." I say to him. I bet he couldn't even do real magic. Just thank you's and please's. And I doubt that too.He turned to the rat that sat on his lap. "Aghhhemm. Sunshine, daises, butter mellow, turn this stupid fat rat yellow!" He murmured. Nothing happened. A little yellow sparkle came out of his wand and that was it. I looked at the other boy. His glasses were quite broken. I walked to him and murmured Reparo so they were fixed.
After all of that 'magic', I introduced myself. The red head was Ron Weasley and the other one was the famous Harry Potter himself. I lectured them to wear their robes, we were coming to Hogwarts anyway.
I went back to the compartment were we sat with Draco. He wasn't there neither was Neville. I sat there alone and waited until we came to Hogwarts. It was so boring, to wait. I picked up my book from my bag and read along the road. It was one of the spell books that I couldn't finish reading.
When we came to Hogwarts, which was like 5 minutes later but still it felt like a thousand years, my eyes couldn't look away. It was just like how I've imagined. The big castle, with the lake and the endless forest... I was so satisfied that I didn't even realize that we were supposed to ride on the boats.
Hagrid, the giant (was he even a giant?) led us to the boats. I ended up with a girl named Pansy and a boy named Ernie. Pansy was a terrible person. That was literally what she seemed like. Terrible! Ernie on the other hand was highly mannered and a smart boy. I'd like to be in the same house with him.
Finally we arrived to the doors of the castle. Professor Mcgonagall, our transfiguration professor was waiting for us at the end of the stairs. The huge doors that led to the dining hall were incredibly big and they were fascinating as the rest of the castle was.
Professor Mcgonagall introduced the 4 houses to us. Ravenclaw, Slytherin, Gryffindor and Hufflepuff. She told us the story and all which I already knew and by no time the doors opened.
We walked through the hallway. As we got closer to the end I could feel the gazes on Harry. What a attention seeker... I looked for Draco in the crowd and it was pretty easy. His light blond hair just yelled 'Draco over here' like it was obvious. He was talking with his friends, and a girl. I'd better not interrupt them...
Names were called and it was finally me! When the hat was on my head I just thought were to be. Ravenclaw was what I thought were I'd be. You know I did read the Hogwarts a History so I pretty know everything about Hogwarts. But the hat just surprised me. 'Gryffindor' it yelled.
I was happy I guess because all the heroes and heroines and every amazing person used to be in Gryffindor. So maybe this was right, for me.
The only bad part was that the second the hat got on Draco's head it yelled 'Slytherin' so it meant I couldn't see him casually and it would be wrong. He was a lot happy about the hats decision and that made me wince a little inside.
After everyone was sorted out, Dumbledore made his announcement about not going to the forest and all we started to eat. Let me tell you one thing, the food is deliriously perfect and amazing. If my mum could cook this well I'd never let her go.
As time passed on I forgot about Draco and I knew I was at the beginning of having the time of my life. I just remembered him when I was walking out of the doors. That's when it all happened.
"I'm sorry." that's what I heard from him.
"About what?" I looked at him as if I didn't know what he was talking about.
"You know that I ditched you after you went."
"Technically I ditched you but still I accept your apology." I said blushing.
Blushing.
Wow, okay.
"So we're good?" He asked me if this was a life situation.
"I guess so." I didn't like the tension that gathered up between us. I just wanted to be friends that all. We said our goodbyes and walked to the opposite directions because that was what we were.
Opposite. But I would never knew that we'd crave each other that much later on. You'll understand, hopefully.

Okay I think I need to apologize from you guys. It's been more than a year since I've updated and I thought I'd lose readers. (Hopefully not...)I know it's been too long and I promise that you guys won't wait this much, again. The fact is that I've started to forget Harry Potter and I know it's not okay!! It's like a disease and I don't like it!
I'll probably read the whole series again this summer but until then I'll post a lot. In Turkey we have a common exam at the beginning and end of the year like SAT, SSAT, etc. and it's been a though semester for me.
It's not your excuse though, Defne! Okay so enough of the talking and lets get moving. See you soon!!
With all my love,
Defne
