Chapter 1

Running, running was all that was on my mind. Trying to get away from whatever was pursuing me. I was passing tree after tree consumed in the forests eternal darkness. My only source of light was the moon that was illuminating above me. And my only motivation to keep running was the sake of my life.

I desperately tried to run faster and faster with my legs burning as if set on fire. "You can't run forever Emma." Said a raspy voice from behind me.

"Do you still remember or have we forgotten so soon" His menacing voice taunted me. This voice sent chills down my spine but what he had just said to me confused me out of all the emotions I was experiencing.

He asked if I forgot, I tried to wrap my mind around this but at the same I was running for my life, not really a great multitask-er I guess you could say.

I could hear the wind howling around me as I ran but for some frustrating yet terrifying reason I was slowing down. I was actually slowing down! It was as If my legs were saying "well you're fucked sorry we just decided to take a nap."

Now I was really beginning to freak out more than I already was. I could hear him get closer and closer. The sound of the leaves crunching got louder and louder, until everything stopped.

Everything was dead silent.

The wind had drastically calmed downed.

That's when I looked up to see my pursuer standing over me. Since it was dark I could only make out one distinct feature, his eyes.

Eyes that beamed down on me like the rays of a blue sun.

Eyes full of hunger, blood lust even. But there were emotions hidden behind those blue eyes. Emotions that were hard to determine. Sadness, regret, desperateness maybe. I wasn't sure.

But those eyes looked so familiar, the way the moonlight shone on them, it made them almost look like the color of Forget me nots. The bluish, purple that could cast a spell on anyone. Why were those eyes so familiar?

" I finally caught up to you, my dearest Emma." He said with a evil smirk. For the first time I spoke up, "Who are you and how do you know my name?"  He started to laugh, at first it was barley audible but then quickly grew louder and louder as time progressed. I grew more uncomfortable but at the same time I grew less patient and more frustrated at him for apparently not taking me serious. "You will soon find out." and with that he vanished.

BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. I woke up in a cold sweat. Turning over on my side toward my night stand, I turned off my irritating alarm and see that its only 7am.

That had to be the 3rd time I've had that dream since I moved back to my home town.

I don't even think that it would qualify as a dream, it's more of a nightmare you can't escape. Every time I have this dream It seems to make more sense but I'm still confused overall.

Putting my strange thoughts aside I scan my surroundings to see a messy new room with boxes scattered everywhere. Some open, half opened, or still sealed shut. I internally groan because of the un-packing I still have to do.

I slowly get up out of my warm bed to be harshly greeted with a cold, hard wooden floor beneath my bare feet. I go into the bathroom as slow as ever and lazily turn the shower on.

If you haven't already noticed, I'm not really your typical morning person, although my parents were.

Thinking of them as I step into the warm water almost brings me to tears that I forcefully hold back. There were only two times I've ever cried, when I had to move away from my only friend when I was about 11 and when my parents died last year in a car crash along with my 7 year old brother when I was about 16. You could say my life sucks, which it does but the medication I take makes me beileve otherwise.

I now live alone with frequent visit from my social worker.

She's a nice lady and all but I do have to admit that spending every Tuesday and Thursday talking about my emotions to some old cat lady gets quite bothersome after a while. She is always telling me to go back to school and make new friends.

I prefer, after everything that has happened, to stay away from people for the most part.

I've always been what the majority of the population would classify as "Anti-social" but I describe it as wanting to stay alone because the majority of society annoys me.

After everyone finds out I'm the girl that moved like 6 times, lost her family to a car accident, and lives alone, all I would every get is pity. Pity, the one thing I hate worse than cheesy 80's horror movies.

I get out of the shower and wrap a fluffy towel around me. After the fog clears off the mirror I see a girl about 5ft 6 with a pretty toned body, considering all I do now is watch TV or play Xbox. I used to play soccer so I guess it paid off. I'm slightly tan, not Jersey shore tan but I'm also not pale. My long dark brown hair is complemented with my dark green eyes, like a forest.

Not the creepy ass forest in my dreams, but more of an enchanted forest. Like something out of a Disney movie, I guess. Thankfully I was blessed with fairly nice skin so I don't really need make up, although I do use it when I want.

After examining myself in the mirror, I get dressed in sweatpants and a big comfy T shirt, and head to my room.

Hesitantly I start un-packing my boxes. After about 30 minutes of un-packing clothes and old pictures, I stumbled across a box that was smaller that most of the other boxes. With caution, afraid that some dead cat I forgot about might lay inside I opened the box to reveal something that flooded my mind with memories I had stored away until now.

All these emotions came flooding back like a hurricane. The emotions just wouldnt stop.Padding on the now wet cardboard, my tears fell like rain. These memories I never forgot have just resurfaced.-
