Ashton wandered aimlessly down the dimly lit, and deserted road. the flickering lights continuously plunged him in and out of darkness, feeding the demon of isolation imbeded in his soul. An outcast wandering the dark streets with only the man in the moon to keep him company. A single tear slid down his cold cheek before he hardened his heart to the pain once more.
He stopped walking under a light that had just busted a few days ago. The same spot he always seemed to wander to without thinking, as if drawn by some force that knew his inner most thoughts; ones that he never truly acknowledged. Ashton placed his hand on the cool concrete structure he was facing. This is as far as he always goes. He leaned over the divide to gaze at the sky reflected in the calm waters below the bridge.
The clear sky showed with near perfection. The moon, shinning with its white brilliance, put every star around it to shame. The amazing pictures forming intobthe constellations couldn't even compete with the impeccably round, and blazingly beautiful glowing sphere.
This angelic beauty always seemed to clear his mind and forced his legs to return him to his home, until the next time his troubling thoughts brought him back on this solemn journey once again.
No such thoughts were effecting Ashton's actions tonight. There was no anger or tense feeling in his muscles. There was only a new, freeing feeling in his head today. Acceptance.
As if on their own accord, his legs prepared to ascend the concrete divide. Before he could, movement from the corner of his vision halted his actions. In the darkness beyond, Ashton could feel eyes watching him. Remaining motionless, he waited for the dim streetlights to flicker back on and reveal the mystery cloaked in darkness. His heart pounded in his ears as he waited. His chest stilled as his breathing hitched, stopping from the fear building in his mind.
