Dr. Eliot Call came in. Dr. Call, a man in his early forties, with black hair and a goatee, sat down beside Emma.
"She's gone, ma'am," he said, full of sorrow.
"No. No," I yelled. Elaine grabbed me, Zach crying.
"No!"
I yelled, then collapsed on the ground, crying.
"Son," Dr. Call said, "you need to go."
Wait. I pointed at the monitor. It was still beeping. Lightly, but... Still.
"We've got her! Dr. Call, help me." Elaine and Dr. Call fiddled around, and Zach and I went out. Zach was too shocked to do anymore, so we left.

"E-Eric?" I looked around. I was in the hospital, but... Why?
I was falling, falling. I hit rock-bottom.
Darkness. Darkness was all I'd seen.
I had fell into a pit.

Dr. Call and I were helping Emma out. Her guardians were to call with an update on her health about every other day or so, for a month.

Elaine hugged me bye, and my parents drove me home. We were at a crossway, when we hit a deer.

I saw flashing lights. All I could see was Zach bolting up, and I went to the door. A police officer was at the door with Emma, who was crying.
"Sir, you need to step outside for a bit..."
